LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- MTV will give viewers a different kind of "Sweet 16" later this month.
"My Super Psycho Sweet 16," a two-hour film based on the reality franchise, will premiere Friday, October 23 at 10:00/9:00c. Chris Zylka, Julianna Guill, Lauren McKnight and Matt Angel all star in the project, about a killer who crashes Madison Penrose's (Guill) birthday bash at the Rollerdome, the site of several grisly murders a decade earlier. Jacob Gentry directed the film from a script by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas.
Sources have also confirmed the cable channel will roll out two new series in the coming weeks:
-- "Ultimate Parkour Challenge," due on Thursday, October 22 at 10:00/9:00c, is a $10,000 competition involving "the world's fastest growing extreme sport" in which "walls, cars, stairs, railings, rooftops and ten-foot gaps between five-story buildings, force runners to leap, roll, climb, vault and fly, using the obstacles in their way to increase speed." Bob Kusbit, Francis Lyons and Kemp Curley are the executive producers.
-- "Styl'd," premiering Sunday, November 1 at 10:00/9:00c, follows "a diverse group of struggling junior assistants as they toil for three glamorous, highly successful celebrity stylists," one of which will ultimately be signed to a stylist contract with the Margaret Maldonado Agency. Jon Murray and Jeff Jenkins are executive producing the project for Bunim-Murray Productions.
