Burbank, CA (June 8, 2009) Lindsay Lohan stars as an assistant at a publishing company who pretends to be pregnant in order to avoid being fired by her boss in the new original movie, "Labor Pains," on ABC Family, premiering Sunday, July 19th (8:00 10:00 PM ET/PT). Along with Lohan, ("Mean Girls") the film includes an all-star cast with Cheryl Hines ("Curb Your Enthusiasm"), Chris Parnell ("Saturday Night Live"), Luke Kirby ("Tell Me You Love Me"), Kevin Covais ("American Idol") and Janeane Garofalo ("24").
Thea's (Lohan) life is not what she had planned she is stuck at a dead-end job at a publishing company, raising her little sister, dating a complete loser and, to top it all off, she is behind on her rent. Thea tries to make the best of the situation, but when her anal boss, Mr. Steinwald (Parnell), decides that her latest screw up is the final straw, she has to think quickly to save her job. Put on the spot, the first thing that pops into Her mind is to tell Mr. Steinwald that she's pregnant. And just like that, the whole office is buzzing about her big news!
With the help of her friend and co-worker, Lisa (Hines), Thea tries to pull off the deception long enough to ensure her job is secure. However the lie quickly spins out of control. Her manager, Nick (Kirby), is trying to open a family division of the company and decides that, since Thea is going through pregnancy herself, she would be the perfect person to head up the new project. So with fake belly in hand, Thea dives into the new position, which includes the task of convincing a famous talk show host (Garofalo) to promote the new book. All the while, a suspicious assistant (Covais) is tracking her every movement. Now fully submerged in the pregnancy culture and facing a budding romance with Nick, will Thea be able to figure a way out of the ruse before it blows up in her face?
