PREMIERE OF "2008 AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS RED CARPET LIVE!" TO AIR BEFORE "AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS" NOVEMBER 23 ON ABC
Carrie Ann Inaba and Chris Harrison Will Host;
Nicole Scherzinger, Christian Siriano and Corbin Bleu Will Be Special Correspondents;
David Cook to Give Exclusive Performance
dick clark productions President Orly Adelson announced today that ABC will broadcast the "2008 American Music Awards Red Carpet Live!" � a special pre-show that will feature an exclusive early look at the night's top fashions and jewelry, sneak peeks at last minute preparations and rehearsals, as well as sit-down interviews with 2008 AMA performers and presenters. "Dancing with the Stars'" Carrie Ann Inaba and "The Bachelor"/"The Bachelorette" host Chris Harrison will host live from the red carpet. Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger will be on hand as music correspondent, "Project Runway" Season Four winner Christian Siriano will serve as the fashion correspondent and "High School Musical's" Corbin Bleu will be reporting the action from backstage. "American Idol" winner David Cook will perform hits from the red carpet. "2008 American Music Awards Red Carpet Live!" will air on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23 (7:00-8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on ABC, immediately followed by the 36th annual AMAs.
"We are excited to bring viewers a first look at their favorite artists with �Red Carpet Live,' where fans will follow the stars from the limo to the limelight," said producer Paul Flattery. "Each host and correspondent will add a unique element to the show, and we are thrilled to have David Cook perform on our broadcast."
Music fans are now able to vote for the T-Mobile "Breakthrough Artist" Award. The nominees for this special award are Colbie Caillat, Flo Rida, Jonas Brothers, Paramore and The-Dream. T-Mobile customers can vote via text message (standard text-messaging rates apply) and/or fans can vote at ama.abc.com. Voting for the T-Mobile "Breakthrough Artist" Award concludes during the "2008 American Music Awards" on November 23.
