Annie Lennox to Be Honored with AMA's Special Award of Merit; Winners Determined by Online Voting at amavote.com
dick clark productions President Orly Adelson announced today that Kanye West, Alicia Keys and The Fray will be performing at the "2008 American Music Awards" (AMAs), which will be broadcast live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23 (8:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT) on ABC. Notable for the ceremony, the special Award of Merit is going to be presented to Annie Lennox, who will also perform. Previous honorees include Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Frank Sinatra, James Brown, Neil Diamond and Gloria Estefan.
"We are delighted to honor Annie Lennox at this year's AMAs. Through her work with the groundbreaking Eurythmics to her solo career, Annie has always been at the forefront of music. She is a truly exceptional artist," said AMA Producer Larry Klein.

For the second year, winners will be determined by online voting at amavote.com, the official voting location (votes will be collected from October 14 to November 7).
