We TV Adds "Girlfriends," More in October
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- WE tv is adding "Girlfriends" to its weekday schedule starting next month. Back-to-back repeats of the former UPN/CW mainstay will air Monday through Friday at noon/11:00c starting Monday, October 6. And to celebrate the show joining the network's lineup, look for a special four-hour marathon of the series on Monday, October 6 beginning at 7:00/6:00c.

Also joining the network in October is "Sex Change Hospital" and the previously announced "My Fair Wedding." Here's a complete breakdown of all the cable channel's highlights for the month (descriptions provided by the network):

GIRLFRIENDS (Weekdays at noon/11:00c starting Monday, October 6) This popular sitcom GIRLFRIENDS has made its way to WE tv! Girlfriends Toni, Maya, Lynn and Joan may all be from different walks of life, but the friendship and humor remains the same as they explore the many trials and tribulations of life. Whether it's relationships, family or friends, the series follows the group of friends as they experience topics common to women everywhere. Starring Tracee Ellis Ross, Golden Brooks, Jill Marie Jones and Persia White.

SEX CHANGE HOSPITAL (Tuesdays at 11:00/10:00c starting October 14) A fascinating six-part series based in Trinidad, Colorado, SEX CHANGE HOSPITAL follows transgender men and women as they arrive in this unassuming town to receive a life-changing surgery from Dr. Marci Bowers, also known as the "Rock Star" of transgender surgery. From housewives to businessmen, construction workers to office managers, each shares their unique story of how they came to terms with their sexuality and their journey toward making the final transition from one gender to another.

MY FAIR WEDDING (Sundays at 10:00/9:00c starting October 26) Every bride has a vision of what she wants her wedding day to look like. But sometimes it needs a little revision! In MY FAIR WEDDING, celebrity wedding planner David Tutera arrives a mere three weeks before the big day to help transform and revamp the less-than-perfect into extraordinary platinum-style affairs. But more than just the wedding, David also works to transform each woman, both inside and out.

666: SEARCHING FOR SATAN (One-hour special on Friday, October 31) If the Devil really does exist, what does he look like and where would you find him? In 666: SEARCHING FOR SATAN, viewers are about to find out as we visit some of the earth's most terrifying locations and uncover the spine-chilling events that took place there. Journey from the Bronx streets where serial killer Son of Sam swears a devil dog forced him to commit his heinous crimes, to the Manson murder mansion where whisperings of the Devil are believed to have driven the killers crazy, and to the events of Parisian cannibal who claims the Devil is his guide.

THE BABY BORROWERS MARATHON (Saturday, October 18 beginning at noon/11:00c) Featuring five diverse teenage couples as they fast-track to adulthood, THE BABY BORROWERS follows each over the course of 3 weeks as they set up a home, get a job and become parents. As their children entrusted in their care by volunteer parents rapidly grow from babies to teenagers and senior citizens, each of these couples is given the unique opportunity to peek into the future....and tested by the ups and downs of everyday adult life. Tune-in to this special marathon of all six episodes.

Also continuing with new episodes in October: "The Locator" (Saturdays at 9:00/8:00c), "John Edward Cross Country" (Saturdays at 10:00/9:00c), "Bridezillas" (Sundays at 9:00/8:00c) and "Amazing Wedding Cakes" (Sundays at 10:00/9:00c).
