COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF (ABC) - Creator Rod Lurie has filed a lawsuit against Touchstone Television, claiming the studio owes him at least $1 million for his work on the short-lived series. The writer/producer/director states that as a concession for being replaced by Steven Bochco (and subsequently Dee Johnson), Touchstone extended his overall deal by two years. After the WGA strike however, Touchstone allegedly stopped payment on the remainder of his $3 million contract and $100,000 per year overhead for his production banner. Touchstone however has yet to be served with court papers and have declined comment.

KYLE XY (ABC Family) - Executive producers Chris Bender and JC Spink have inked a two-year first-look deal with CBS Paramount Network Television. The pact gives the studio first crack the pair's Benderspink output for the small screen. Best known for their feature work - "A History of Violence," "Monster-in-Law" and "Just Friends" - Benderspink gave television a try with the ABC Family/ABC Studios-based "Kyle XY." Prior to CBS Paramount Network Television, the company had a first-look deal with 20th Century Fox Television sibling Fox 21 where they shepherded TV versions of "The Butterfly Effect" and "Monster-in-Law."
