New Series Offers Exclusive Look Inside the Professional and Personal Lives of the Women Behind Marie Claire

"Running in Heels" Premieres March 2009

Los Angeles, CA & New York, NY, September 9, 2008 - Two of the nation's preeminent media outlets for women, Comcast Entertainment Group's The Style Network and the U.S. edition of Marie Claire, announced today that they will partner to create a new reality docu-series,"Running in Heels." With an anticipated March 2009 premiere date, the weekly series will offer unparalleled access to the lives of Marie Claire's diverse group of editors, writers and interns, bringing viewers inside the excitement, drama and never-ending flurry of activity at the magazine, from celebrity cover shoots to high-profile Fashion Week events. The series will also follow the private lives of the Marie Claire staffers as they seek to balance demanding careers with social lives and family obligations.

"The Style Network and Marie Claire share a common vision for how to entertain and inspire women," said Salaam Coleman Smith, executive vice president, The Style Network. "Style is thrilled to immerse viewers in the fast-paced, high-gloss world of Marie Claire, and to offer them a dynamic look at the competitive magazine industry and a glimpse into the lives of the women that make it all happen."

Added Joanna Coles, editor-in-chief, Marie Claire: "This is the first docu-series in the history of the magazine and we're excited to work with The Style Network to offer unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to Marie Claire and the stylish, smart women who put the magazine together each month. There's sure to be lots of drama to interest viewers."

"Running in Heels" will show life at Marie Claire through different sets of eyes, from senior level staffers to interns at the beginning of their careers. As the real drama of life at a major fashion magazine unfolds, viewers will experience firsthand the pressures and responsibilities that staffers face as they execute assignments under tight deadlines and cope with their successes and failures. Each week, "Running in Heels" will put viewers in the shoes of different Marie Claire staffers not only to experience what their worlds are like, but also to better understand how they juggle the complex challenges that come with their jobs.

Each episode will focus on a different staffer's personal story. Cameras will capture the 24/7 demands of their roles at the magazine and, through private video confessionals, viewers will learn how the interns cope with their jobs, their superiors and each other. "Running in Heels" will also juxtapose the personal lives of the interns struggling to make it in Manhattan with those of the fashionable and successful Marie Claire executives - exploring the differences and similarities of life at the top and at the bottom of the career ladder.

"Running in Heels" will uncover what it means to be a working woman in the cut-throat, exhilarating world of a top fashion and beauty magazine. It will dispel the misconception that it is all about glitz and glamour and instead demonstrate that success comes with hard work, long hours and personal sacrifice.

"Running in Heels" is produced by Banks Tarver, Ken Druckerman and Ross Breitenbach of Left/Right with Style's Executive Producer Sarah Weidman and Director of Development Merah Chung.
