UNIVERSAL HD PRESENTS AN OLYMPIC THEMED AUGUST IN HONOR OF THE 2008 BEIJING OLYMPICS
Sports Themed Programming to Include Olympic Trials, Showtime Championship Boxing And AST Dew Tour Wendy's Invitational
BURBANK, Calif. � July 24, 2008 � Universal HD honors the upcoming 2008 Beijing Olympics with a themed month of Olympic events and athletes and a schedule packed with fan favorite sporting events that include the continuation of Showtime Championship Boxing. Also this August, Universal HD viewers can see all their favorite celebrities with the hottest movie premieres in 1080i High Definition. The final season of "Battlestar Galactica" also lands on the network in August.

August kicks off chock-full of 2008 Beijing Olympic programming from Friday, August 8 to Sunday, August 24. The coverage begins on Friday, August 8 at 2am ET and continues all day through Sunday, August 24 at 2am ET. Additional Olympic excitement returns Sunday, August 24 from 9am � 1pm ET. Before the games begin, Universal HD honors Olympic athletes in various Olympic Trials events during "Olympic Athlete Weekend" on Saturday, August 2 from 11:30am-8pm ET and Sunday, August 3 from 8:30am-8pm ET.
The continuation of "Showtime Championship Boxing" returns with the world's greatest fighters in the premiere of Abraham Vs. Miranda on Sunday, August 3 at 8pm and 10:00pm ET. Extreme sport fans can catch the AST Dew Tour Wendy's Invitational from Portland, Oregon immediately after the Olympics coverage on Saturday, August 23 from 2-4am ET. Encores will follow on Sunday, August 24 from 4-6pm ET and again on Wednesday, August 27 from 8-10pm and 2-4am ET.
Some of the summer's biggest stars can be seen in a month long event of movie premieres. Viewers can see all of their favorite celebrities better than ever in 1080i high definition. Indiana Jones himself, Harrison Ford, kicks off August with an unforgettable performance in "Regarding Henry" on Friday, August 1 at 8pm and 12am ET. Burt Reynolds and Clint Eastwood join forces for laughs in "City Heat" on Tuesday, August 5 at 6pm ET and funnyman Leslie Neilson takes a shot at detective work in "Naked Gun 2 �: The Smell of Fear" on Tuesday, August 5 at 10pm ET. It takes movie magic to solve murders in "F/X" on Thursday, August 7 at 1am ET and "F/X 2" on Friday, August 29 at 10pm and 2am ET. On Sunday, August 24, Nicole Kidman is in for a surprise out at sea in "Dead Calm" at 8pm and 12am ET. Finally, legendary comedians Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor star in "Harlem Nights" on Tuesday, August 26 at 8:30pm and 3:30am ET.
Fans of "Battlestar Galactica" can gear up for the final season airing on Saturday nights. Returning to the schedule after the Olympics, catch up with the fourth season premiere on Saturday, August 30 at 8pm and 12am ET.
