Last Chance For Comics to Make the "Last Comic Standing" Semi-finals!
BURBANK, CA June 17, 2008 NBC's "Last Comic Standing" goes international when top comics from five continents and more than 20 countries around the globe audition in Miami on the final audition episode airing Thursday, June 19 (8:30-10:00 p.m. ET). Lonny Ross and Keith Powell from NBC's hit series "30 Rock" are the celebrity talent scouts, and Bill Bellamy hosts the Emmy-nominated series.
One by one, comics arrive at the Miami International airport, and are greeted by "Last Comic Standing's" special correspondent Fearne Cotton wearing appropriately themed outfits for each country represented. Then it's off to audition for Ross and Powell, who play Josh and Toofer on NBC's "30 Rock." Comics hailing from England, France, Australia, Scotland, Ireland, Norway, Sweden and South Africa try out, along with comedians from India, New Zealand, Denmark, Japan, Argentina, Israel, Armenia and Jamaica all taking their shot at the American dream. From identical Australian twin comics to an Englishman whose secret weapon is his double bass to an Israeli comic doing his impression of a stuttering turtle, it's a wildly entertaining comic invasion and the last audition episode of the season.
Then, as a sneak preview to the semi-final episodes from Paris Las Vegas airing June 26 and July 3, viewers will see the 32 semi-finalists arriving at the Las Vegas strip, each hoping to be chosen as one of the top 12 comedy acts, and ultimately to become the Last Comic Standing. America will vote to determine who will win the $250,000 grand prize including an exclusive talent deal with NBC, a brand new Honda Pilot, and a starring appearance in Jubilee! at Bally's Las Vegas.
