BRAVO'S 'KATHY GRIFFIN: MY LIFE ON THE D-LIST' WINS GLAAD AWARD TO AIR JUNE 27

GLAAD Awards Will Air On Bravo On Friday, June 27 Followed By Basic Cable Premiere of "Brokeback Mountain"

NEW YORK April 28, 2007 Bravo's Emmy Award-winning series "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List" won a GLAAD Award for Outstanding Reality Program at the 19th Annual GLAAD Media Awards this weekend. The honors were given out at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles on April 26. This marks the first time "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List" was nominated for a GLAAD Award, which recognizes and honors mainstream media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.

GLAAD and Bravo have entered into an exclusive agreement to telecast the 19th Annual GLAAD Media Awards on Friday, June 27 at 7 PM ET/PT. The national media advocacy organization has presented the GLAAD Media Awards annually since 1990, but this will be the first televised airing of the celebration on a fully distributed national cable network. The special will include award presentations from various cities New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and South Florida to name a few. The special will be immediately followed by the basic cable premiere of the critically acclaimed, Academy Award-winning film "Brokeback Mountain," which was also the 2006 GLAAD Award winner for Outstanding Film.

Kathy Griffin said about her win, "God knows I can't do anything without my gays. I am truly honored because of the respect I have for the gay community. Besides the fact that they are so good at coming together, mobilizing, getting the word out there about discrimination which is still very much alive they are still the best damn laughers in the world and I will have them as long as they'll have me. Being a gay-adjacent performer, I think 'My Life on the D-List' includes a myriad of gay people because that's just how my life is. But it's always gratifying when straight men and women who probably don't even think they know any gay people in their own community come up to me and tell me how much they enjoy the show, without even mentioning the gay theme. That kind of makes me feel, 'hey, maybe we opened one more person's mind just a little bit.'"

Bravo garnered three of the five nominations in the Outstanding Reality Program category "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List," "Project Runway," and "Work Out." SciFi Channel's "Who Wants to Be a Superhero?" and Fox's "Trading Spouses" rounded out the list.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is dedicated to promoting and ensuring fair, accurate and inclusive representation of people and events in the media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.
