KATELYN MORGAN FROM CALIFORNIA HAS BEEN CROWNED "AMERICA'S PROM QUEEN" DURING THE FINALE OF THE REALITY SERIES ON MONDAY, APRIL 21 ON ABC FAMILY
Burbank, CA (April 21, 2008) During the series finale, Katelyn Morgan (18) of Yorba Linda, California was voted on by the viewers to become "America's Prom Queen." The series' finale episode of "America's Prom Queen" aired on ABC Family Monday, April 21 (9:00 10:00 PM ET/PT).
As "America's Prom Queen," Katelyn will become CosmoGIRL!'s official prom correspondent, and will be given the opportunity to be a guest editor for the magazine's 2009 prom coverage. She will also receive an all-expense paid trip to New York City to meet with the editors of the magazine, who will give her a day of beauty, which will be documented and featured on the CosmoGIRL! website (www.cosmogirl.com). In addition, Katelyn received a diamond necklace from ICE.com and a European vacation from Contiki.
Katelyn came to the show as the bubbly, blonde, all American girl next door who is extremely involved in school activities and always willing to help others. As a member of the Association of Student Body, she is always working behind the scenes of the homecoming and prom events, but now, Katelyn's time has come to shine in the limelight herself instead of working to make others shine.
"America's Prom Queen" was hosted by Miss USA 2003 Susie Castillo, who also served as a mentor and guide for the girls. The Prom Committee members included CosmoGIRL's Editor in Chief Susan Schulz, style and cultural expert Jai Rodriquez ("Ultimate Style," "Queer Eye For the Straight Guy"), pop star Brooke Hogan ("Hogan Knows Best") and comic and reality television star Theo Von ("Last Comic Standing," "Road Rules"). Guest judges will include musical artist Sean Kingston, actress Spencer Grammer ("Greek") and from "The Ellen Degeneres Show" DJ Styrker. ("Loveline")
