AMC Promotes Christina Wayne to Senior Vice President for Scripted Series and Mini-Series

New York, New York - January 25, 2008 - AMC, the multi-platform network that celebrates classic movies and high-quality scripted series, announced today the promotion of Christina Wayne to Senior Vice President for Scripted Series and Mini-Series from Vice President for Scripted Series and Mini-Series. With this promotion, Wayne will oversee all development of AMC's line-up of original series and movies, working closely with creators and writers to find and cultivate projects for production. While the network continues its search for a new head of Programming and Production, both Wayne and AMC's VP of Production, Vlad Wolynetz, will report directly to Charlie Collier, Executive Vice President and General Manager of AMC.

"Christina's continued leadership will allow us to maintain the same high levels of quality and creativity now synonymous with AMC's original programming," said Collier. "Her mastery of and instincts for scripted series have played a big hand in AMC's movement into original series and mini-series, and her talent and expertise have helped to garner unprecedented critical acclaim and industry accolades for AMC's programming. Since joining AMC in 2005, Ms. Wayne has successfully overseen the development of the network's growing roster of original series and mini-series, including the development of several high-profile projects, such as the recently-debuted drama series "Breaking Bad," created by "X- Files" writer Vince Gilligan, and "Mad Men," a drama chronicling the personal and professional lives of New York advertising execs circa 1960, and winner of two 2008 Golden Globe Awards, including Best Television Series - Drama and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama for Jon Hamm. She also led the development of "Broken Trail," AMC's first-ever original mini-series event. "Broken Trail" was the most watched scripted program on cable in 2006 and winner of four 2007 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Mini-Series.

Wayne is a seasoned screenwriter and director with a long list of career accomplishments. She wrote and directed Tart, a film acquired and distributed by Lionsgate, and was responsible for penning the sequel to Dirty Dancing for Artisan Entertainment. Additionally, Wayne has written and directed numerous music videos for Propaganda Films and the A&R group, directed a rock documentary film, and produced for E! Entertainment television. She has also written television movies for USA Network and Fox Television, and screenplays for Castlerock "Get This," Paramount Pictures "Go Lightly" and Bel Air entertainment "Rock and Roll." Wayne launched her career as a journalist for Rolling Stone Magazine, Spin, Vibe, The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times Magazine, among others.
