BRAVO MEDIA ANNOUNCES "TOP CHEF: THE COOKBOOK" PUBLISHED BY CHRONICLE BOOKS
Book Launches In March
NEW YORK January 9, 2008 Bravo Media, Bravo's global, multimedia content company, announced the group's first publication, "Top Chef: The Cookbook," to be published by Chronicle Books, a leading publisher in the cooking category (Michael Chiarello's Casual Cooking, Weber's Big Book of Grilling) and packaging by Melcher Media (Sex in the City, Curb Your Enthusiasm). Launching in March, the book will be the official companion cookbook to Bravo's Emmy-nominated culinary hit series "Top Chef" the No. 1 food show on cable and will reveal the dish on the food, chef'testants and the show. The announcement was made by Jason Klarman, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Digital Strategy, Bravo.
"'Top Chef' fans are as passionate about the food on the show as they are about the contestants," said Klarman. "This book serves them the best of both, allowing them now to enjoy the show in their kitchens as well as their living rooms."
"Chronicle Books is thrilled to be publishing the Top Chef Cookbook. Many of us here are fans of the show---it all began in San Francisco, after all and more than that, we are admirers of Bravo's creative approach to entertainment," said Mikyla Bruder, Publishing Director, Chronicle Books. "We know we will have great fun collaborating with them on this exciting project."
With more than 100 recipes from the first three seasons of the series, "Top Chef: The Cookbook" includes dishes from the Elimination Rounds and the Quick-Fire Challenges, daring fans to join the fun by recreating their favorite recipes at home. With an introduction written by lead judge Tom Colicchio, the book features in-depth discussions with contestants, judges and crew that reveal the inner workings of the series answering questions like who creates the challenges, who came up with the "Pack your knives and go" tagline and 'where are they now?' Extensively photographed, readers will get a satisfying look into the "Top Chef" pantry (as well as what to stock in their own kitchen), see close-ups of competition sites and relive a variety of classic show moments.
In addition to publishing, Bravo Media has extended the "Top Chef" brand with "Top Chef Challenge," a new mobile game from LimeLife, one of the premiere mobile gaming companies, via the web with Bravo For Foodies (www.BravoTV.com) and with "Top Chef" knives from Master Cutlery.
