LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- ABC is putting "Big Shots" on hiatus for the rest of 2007, scheduling updates from the network confirmed this morning.
Repeats of "Private Practice" will instead fill the Thursday, 10:00/9:00c hour for the next three weeks. Said broadcasts will be in addition to its regular Wednesday, 9:00/8:00c airings.
It's not clear when or if "Big Shots" will return. Production has been completed on all 13 ordered episodes of the series, five of which have yet to air.
Meanwhile, the Alphabet has quietly expanded the premieres of its upcoming newcomers "Duel" and "Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann."
The former will now run for 90 minutes on Monday, December 17, meaning "Samantha Who?" will be pre-empted on the night.
As for "War," the series will now launch with a two-hour broadcast on Monday, January 7. To make room for the move, "Samantha" will again be pre-empted, as will lead-out "Notes from the Underbelly."
Both "Samantha" and "Notes" presumably will then return with new episodes on January 14.
ABC is expected to unveil its complete post-strike schedule by the end of the week.
