AMBREAL ELIMINATED FROM "AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL" ON THE CW

November 15, 2007 (Burbank, California) - Ambreal, a college student from Dallas, Texas, was eliminated from the competition of the ninth cycle of The CW's hit reality series America's Next Top Model, reducing the pool from seven girls to six.

The girls were greeted at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles by posing instructor Benny Ninja and guest judge and Director of Elite Model Management Neal Hamil. Each girl was paired with a student designer to serve as their muse. The girls later presented the dresses they inspired in a fashion runway show. Though Ambreal was confident in her enthusiastic runway presentation, Editor-in-Chief of Seventeen Anne Shoket was not impressed. You sort of oversold it. You have to make sure you don't step over the line and be corny and cheesy, Shoket told Ambreal.

The next day, the girls were dropped off in the middle of the desert for a photo shoot in model wasteland. Jay Manuel placed them next to a burning car where they had to portray desperation at being lost in the desert. During Ambreal's shoot, she struggled to understand what Jay wanted from her, and Jay became frustrated that she continued to rely on posing instead of displaying her frustration.

During judging panel, the girls were jubilant when a Chinese dragon interrupted Tyra to reveal that the girls would travel overseas to China for the remainder of the competition, until they realized that one of them would be heading home. During deliberations, the judges agreed that Ambreal failed to model her clothing during both the runway challenge and the photo shoot. Ambreal is a lovely girl. Unfortunately, I don't think she has the gift of modeling, Nigel said. Tyra told Ambreal that she just wasn't strong enough to continue in the race to become America's Next Top Model.

In addition to a $100,000 contract with cosmetics giant CoverGirl, this year's prize package for the winner of The CW's America's Next Top Model will include a contract with Elite Model Management and a cover and six-page fashion spread in Seventeen magazine.

The ninth cycle of the hit reality series America's Next Top Model on The CW follows 13 young women as they attempt to prove they have what it takes to make it in the high-stress world of modeling. Banks, who created the show, also serves as executive producer along with Ken Mok (Making the Band) and Daniel Soiseth (Hell's Kitchen).

America's Next Top Model airs Wednesdays, (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on The CW. For more information about America's Next Top Model log on to www.cwtv.com.
