LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX continued to shuffle its midseason roster on Tuesday, picking up a second cycle of "Kitchen Nightmares" and suspending production on newcomer "New Amsterdam."
As for specifics, "Nightmares," a pseudo spin-off of "Hell's Kitchen," will return for at least 10 new episodes sometime in 2008.
Arthur Smith, Pat Llewellyn, Kent Weed, Gerry McKean and Curt Northrup are the executive producers for Granada America, Optomen Television and A. Smith & Co.
Meanwhile, "Amsterdam's" order has been cut from 13 to eight episodes (seven plus the pilot).
The news marks the latest blow to the troubled drama, which was originally set to premiere on Tuesday nights this fall. Last week, FOX made a similar decision about fellow Regency Television-based newcomer "The Return of Jezebel James."
David Manson, Allan Loeb, and Steven Pearl are the executive producers of the series, which was created by Loeb and Christian Taylor.
[EDITOR'S NOTE: The original report incorrectly listed the number of completed "Amsterdam" installments as seven. It was later revealed seven episodes were filmed after the pilot, meaning eight total will be available to air.]
