ABC Family Orders Season 3 of Hit Series "Kyle Xy" from ABC Studios

ABC FAMILY ORDERS SEASON 3 OF HIT SERIES "KYLE XY" FROM ABC STUDIOS

Burbank, CA (October 5, 2007) - ABC Family has ordered season 3 of the original drama "Kyle XY," a series that has become the network's signature show, from ABC Studios. Ten episodes have been ordered. A start date has not been determined yet as the show is currently in production on the back ten episodes of season two.

The sophomore season of "Kyle XY" posted increases over year-ago time period levels, increasing by 8% in Adults 18-34 (333,000 vs. 308,000) and by 2% in Women 18 -34 (209,000 vs. 205,000.) "Kyle XY" also stood as basic cable's No. 2 program in the time period in Female Teens (220,000), No. 3 in Teens 12-17 (319,000) and Females 12-34 (429,000) and No. 5 in Adults 12-34 (651,000.)

At KyleXY.com, over 1 million unique visitors generated 6.2 million page views during the show's sophomore season, an increase of over 100% over a year ago.

The series is a recent TCA Award winner and both the show and star Matt Dallas were nominated for Teen Choice Awards. Combining an engaging mythology and relationship drama elements, "Kyle XY" has followed the life of its title character since he walked out of the woods totally innocent of the complexities of human behavior to where he has come to accept that he has special capabilities and is determined to understand and use them wisely.

"Kyle XY" was created by Eric Bress and J. Mackye Gruber and is executive produced by Chris Bender, J.C. Spink, Eric Tuchman and David Himmelfarb. Julie Plec is supervising producer.

The series stars Matt Dallas as Kyle XY, Marguerite MacIntyre as Nicole Trager, Bruce Thomas as Stephen Trager, April Matson as Lori Trager, Jean-Luc Bilodeau as Josh Trager, Chris Olivero as Declan McDonough, Kirsten Prout as Amanda Bloom and Jaimie Alexander as Jessi.
