EMMY-WINNING ACTRESS MARLO THOMAS TO GUEST STAR ON "UGLY BETTY"
Emmy-winning actress, producer, author and social activist Marlo Thomas will guest star in an upcoming episode of ABC's comedy hit "Ugly Betty" this fall. She'll appear as Sandra Winthrop, the owner of a large jewelry company with a penchant for younger men -- Daniel Meade (Eric Mabius) in particular. Daniel plans to use his charms to woo Sandra to become a Mode advertiser, and to prove to his family that he's a savvy businessman.
Marlo Thomas has been honored with four Emmys, nine Emmy nominations, a Golden Globe, the George Foster Peabody Award, The Grammy, the Helen Caldicott Award for Nuclear Disarmament, the Thomas Paine Award from the A.C.L.U., the American Women in Radio and Television Satellite Award, and has been inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame. She starred and produced the iconic television series "That Girl," the first series to portray an independent single woman living alone. The last time Ms. Thomas guest starred in a television comedy was as Jennifer Aniston's mother on "Friends," for which she received an Emmy nomination.

"Ugly Betty" will have its season premiere THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET), on the ABC Television Network.
