CMT Announces New Makeover Series "I Want to Look Like a High School Cheerleader Again" to Premiere in October

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Trainer Jay Johnson Transforms Former Cheerleaders Back Into Fighting Shape As They Compete For $50,000 Prize and a Return to Glory

NASHVILLE � August 30, 2007 � CMT enlists Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders trainer Jay Johnson to whip 10 women back into their high school cheerleading shape in the new series, I WANT TO LOOK LIKE A HIGH SCHOOL CHEERLEADER AGAIN, premiering in October on CMT. Production on the eight episode series is currently underway in Los Angeles.

Over a ten week period, Johnson will work to restore the athletic physique of these former high school cheerleaders and transform their lives with the help of his wife Lin and his tough Army-style fitness regimen. Contestants will be physically and emotionally challenged as they compete for a $50,000 prize and the chance to perform again in front of a live audience.

"Every former athlete, at some point in their lives, looks back at their high school days and thinks 'Man, if I could be in THAT kind of shape again, to have ONE crack at feeling that energy, and that rush again, I'd do it in a heartbeat,'" said Bob Kusbit, head of development, CMT. "We're giving some lucky women a chance to change their health, their attitude, their lives and relive those cheerleading glory days all over again. And after working with Jay the last couple of years, we know he is the perfect guy to make it all happen."

Johnson and his team will help 10 ladies - professionals, singles and stay-at-home moms who are all former high school cheerleaders - get back in shape fast. The women will withstand grueling physical challenges and emotional eliminations as they vie to shed pounds, tone their bodies and fit back into their high school uniform. In his own words, Jay is on a mission to bring "sexy back" for these ten lucky ladies with the help of intense workouts and individualized nutrition plans.

Jay Johnson is one of the nation's foremost leaders in fitness and motivation, with a no-nonsense approach defined by working, and working hard. He has honed his profession more than 20 years while serving as a combat infantryman, and a brief stint as a U.S. Army boot camp drill instructor. Jay and his wife, Lin Johnson, formed Boot Camp Fitness in 2001, developing a loyal following of fitness buffs and beginners. In addition to CMT's DALLAS COWBOYS CHEERLEADERS: MAKING THE TEAM series, Johnson has been featured in Muscle and Fitness magazine, "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," "Wife Swap," Bloomberg News, ABC's Evening News, "Judge Hatchett," HBO's "Hard Knocks" and more. He is the official trainer of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, and he holds one of the Top 50 best jobs in the nation, according to Men's Journal.
