Special Encore Presentation Will Lead Up to the Second Episode Airing on SOAPnet August 8 at 9:00 PM
ABC will encore the premiere episode of SOAPnet's new reality series "The Fashionista Diaries" on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 8 during "The View's" timeslot (11:00 a.m., ET/ 10:00 a.m., PT). The special encore presentation on ABC will lead up to the second episode premiere on SOAPnet that night at 9:00 p.m.
"'The Fashionista Diaries' will provide The View' audience with a compelling look at the real-life, behind-the-scenes drama of the fashion, beauty and publishing world," said Brian Frons, president, Daytime, Disney ABC Television Group. "This is a great way to expose SOAPnet's new original programming to a broad audience."
On the premiere episode, follow six assistants as they're introduced to the glamorous and highly competitive world of fashion, beauty and publishing on their first week on the job at Flirt! Cosmetics, Jane Magazine and Seventh House PR.
Things immediately become uncomfortable when Jane Magazine assistants Rachel Jacoby and Andrew Kanakis arrive at the Milk Studios for a "Naked Photo Shoot," where they may have to bare everything to get the job done. Later they head to the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) ceremony to take their position on the red carpet to capture celebrity/designer interviews.
Meanwhile, at Flirt! Cosmetics, assistants Janjay Sherman and Tina Patient impress executives at a color-pallet meeting discussing new makeup. Over at Seventh House PR, assistant Nicole Amendolare feels like a real life "Ugly Betty" and questions whether she's got what it takes to make it in the fashion industry. In the meantime, assistant Bridget Helene moves into Andrew's apartment.
Finally, the executives evaluate their new assistants based on the performances during their first work week. Are they the new darlings of the fashion industry, or will they meet their demise one designer at a time?
"The Fashionista Diaries" captures the drama as six assistants get the opportunity to work in three different aspects of the fashion world. Two each join Flirt! Cosmetics, a brand from the BeautyBank division of the Este Lauder Companies, Jane magazine, the coolest publication for 20-somethings and Seventh House PR, a boutique public relations agency specializing in fashion. The assistants are entrenched in their individual worlds and cross paths as projects and events bring them together. The series follows the ups and downs of these six young men and women as they try and make it in the highly competitive fashion, beauty and publishing industries at glamorous jobs with sky-high rent, long hours and a hectic social life that blurs the lines between work and play. The series culminates at Fall Fashion Week 2007, the fashion industry's biggest event. "The Fashionista Diaries" airs Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m. on SOAPnet.
SOAPnet's "The Fashionista Diaries" is from Disney's Buena Vista Productions in association with Go Go Luckey Productions ("Laguna Beach") and Hour One.
