Web-Star Vloggers Find New Home At NBC Digital Entertainment
BURBANK, Calif. - June 4, 2007 - NBC Digital Entertainment's DotComedy.com today announced additions to its robust lineup of new comedy vloggers currently found on the site. The announcements were made by Sean Redlitz, Managing Director, DotComedy.
Newly added vlogs:
(FAKE) CELEBRITY VLOGS
What do you get when you combine the latest celebrity gossip with the talents of master impressionist Phillip Wilburn? The fictional vlogs we only wish we could see from stars like Tom Cruise, Rosie O'Donnell and Donald Trump!
YOUR B.F.F. SHERRY
Stand-up comic and weird video maker par excellence Sherry Sirof is ready to be your best friend, forever!
TWO BUCK CHUCK AND US
In her interview show-meets-slumber party, Cara Jedell invites her cute girlfriends into her bedroom to drink cheap wine and cruise hot guys on MySpace. Email her and they'll rate your profile too!
"We loved the parody videos Phillip posted to his MySpace, the flirtatiously funny webisodes Cara uploaded to YouTube, and the slyly clever vlogs Sherry was doing on Heavy.com," said Redlitz. "Now all three are in one place, DotComedy.com. What could be more convenient?"
Originally from Texas, Phillip is known for his ability to imitate almost any voice from Regis Philbin to George W. Bush, and everything in between. Phillip's George W. Bush is "played to squinty eyed perfection," says the LA Times. He has done voice work for "Dragon Ball Z" on Cartoon Network and the "Lupin The Third" movie series. Currently Phillip is doing characters and impressions weekly on Dot Comedy, and can be seen on stage in Big News at the IO West every week.
Sherry Sirof was raised in a tiny little mountain town, near Yosemite National Park in Northern California. She eventually grew up, moved to San Francisco, and became a stand-up comedian. In her spare time, she makes humorous on-line videos, which many people seem to feel are speaking to them directly. Sherry has been featured in Time Out New York, Business Week, and Comedy Central for her efforts.
Cara has performed for the last 5 years in numerous Improv comedy shows at Improv Olympic and can be seen in such television shows as "The Sopranos," "7th Heaven," "Law & Order" and the movie "Venus and Vegas," to be released next year to name a few. Tired of the daily struggle with getting dressed and getting out of the house coupled with her obsession with hooking up her hot single girlfriends with the opposite sex, she got the novel idea to host an interview show... on her bed!
DotComedy is NBC Universal's broadband channel devoted to exclusively to comedy. The site features a robust offering of original video series and shorts, as well as unparalleled access to NBC's famed late night comedic programming. A 2007 Webby Award Official Honoree, DotComedy is the home of viral video hit "The Easter Bunny Hates You."
