NBC PROMOTES STEVEN HUERTA TO DIRECTOR, PROGRAM RESEARCH, NBC ENTERTAINMENT
BURBANK, Calif. � May3, 2007 � NBC has promoted Steven Huerta to Director, Program Research, NBC Entertainment, it was announced today by Sumithra (Sumi) Barry, Senior Vice President, NBC West Coast Program Research, NBC Entertainment, to whom he reports.
"Steven is a vital resource to the organization because of his expertise in both primary and secondary research," said Barry. "He consistently makes significant contributions to the research efforts and NBC Universal, and we congratulate him on this promotion."
Huerta is responsible for primary research on "Law & Order," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," "My Name Is Earl," "ER," and the new hit drama "Heroes." He also is responsible for tracking studies that measure viewer reaction to existing programs, which provides tactical insight to help strengthen the overall position of NBC in the competitive broadcast landscape.
Previously, Huerta had served as Manager, Primary Research, NBC Entertainment, since he joined the company in August 2004. While in that position, his duties included responsibility for initiating and overseeing primary market research for several NBC primetime series as well as other dayparts.
From September 2002 to August 2004, Huerta was Director, Media Research, for Warner Bros. Television in Burbank, where he worked as a liaison providing research and program strategies to various departments inside the company.
Huerta also served as Head of Research for Universal Television in Universal City from July 2000 to July 2002, where he reported directly to the Senior Vice President of Domestic Television Syndication. Earlier, he was Director, Program Research, for Fox Family Worldwide in Los Angeles from December 1998 to June 2000.
In addition, Huerta worked as Director of Research at the IFE/MTM Family Channel from March 1995 to December 1998 in Studio City, California, and as Manager of Marketing/Sales Research at ITC Entertainment in Studio City from August 1994 to March 1995.
Huerta earned a bachelor of arts degree in media management from California State University at Northridge.
