LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- HBO has moved up the second season launch of its original series "Big Love."
The show's sophomore run is now set to begin on Monday, June 11 at 9:00/8:00c. The news marks the pay channel's first scripted offering outside its signature Sunday lineup in two years.
The last attempt - for the final season of "Six Feet Under" in 2005 - was short-lived as the network moved the series back to Sunday nights after just five weeks.
In any case, like the "Six Feet under" experiment, encores of "Big Love" will also air Sundays at 8:00/7:00c starting June 17.
As for the rest of its June offerings, the channel previously confirmed "The Sopranos'" swan song for Sunday, June 10 at 9:00/8:00c as well as the premieres of "John from Cincinnati" (Sunday, June 10 at 10:00/9:00c before moving to 9:00/8:00c the following week), "Flight of the Conchords" (Sunday, June 17 at 10:30/9:30c) and season four of "Entourage" (Sunday, June 17 at 10:00/9:00c).
Said series will likewise encore on Monday nights meaning all four original series will run on Sundays and Mondays:
Sundays
8:00/7:00c - "Big Love" (Repeats)
9:00/8:00c - "John from Cincinnati"
10:00/9:00c - "Entourage"
10:30/9:30c - "Flight of the Conchords"
Mondays
8:00/7:00c - "Entourage" (Repeats)
8:30/7:30c - "Flight of the Conchords" (Repeats)
9:00/8:00c - "Big Love"
10:00/9:00c - "John from Cincinnati" (Repeats)
Meanwhile, Showtime has confirmed its new series "Meadowlands" will bow on Sunday, June 17 at 10:00/9:00c. The series, a co-production between the network and the U.K.'s Channel 4, will take over for "The Tudors," which wraps its freshman run the week prior.
