Image Entertainment and NBC Universal Television Distribution Sign Agreement for 14 Films Produced for the SCI FI Channel
Audience Favorites �Terminal Invasion� and �Manticore� Among First Planned Releases
CHATSWORTH, Calif. -- Image Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: DISK), a leading independent licensee, producer and distributor of home entertainment programming in North America, today announced it had entered into a multi-year agreement with NBC Universal Television Distribution to release 14 motion pictures originally produced for the SCI FI Channel�s Saturday night movie franchise. The Channel is one of the biggest commissioners of original movies in the United States.
�Terminal Invasion,� starring cult-favorite Bruce Campbell (�Army of Darkness�), will be among the first releases from the agreement, along with the highly rated �Manticore� with Jeff Fahey (�Lawnmower Man�). Image plans to enhance a number of these titles with ancillary features for release on DVD in North America. In addition to DVD rights, Image will make the titles available for digital download.
Rounding out the agreement, additional titles slated for release include �Snakehead Terror,� �Interceptor Force 2,� �Darklight,� �Crimson Force,� �Alien Siege,� �Locusts: The 8th Plague,� �Threshold,� �Webs,� �Bugs,� �Encrypt,� �Deathlands� and �Do or Die.�
SCI FI Saturday: The Most Dangerous Night of Television is the Channel's homage to the classic popcorn feature, a re-imagination of cinema's most delectable sci-fi treats. Like the timeless fare that packed movie theaters and drive-ins, SCI FI�s non-stop Saturday thrill rides offer thoroughly modern escapist fun, running the gamut from traditional creature features to horror flicks and sleek, contemporary thrillers.
