CBS SIGNS LONG-TERM AFFILATION AGREEMENT WITH MEDIA GENERAL BROADCAST DIVISION FOR STATION IN ALEXANDRIA, LA.
CBS announced today that it has signed a long-term affiliation agreement with Media General Broadcast Division�s station, KALB-DT in Alexandria, La. Beginning Jan. 1, 2007, KALB�s digital transmitter will begin airing two signals. One will continue to air NBC and all the other programs that have made KALB the most-viewed station in the Alexandria, La., area. The other channel will carry CBS programming and introduce other new programs to the area.
Peter Schruth, President, CBS Affiliate Relations, said: �This is the first time that CBS has had a home base in Alexandria. The addition of KALB-DT to our affiliate line-up enables the Network to enhance its presence in central Louisiana. There are the added benefits of working with the skilled management team at the top-rated station in the market, as well as with Media General, one of the leading station operators in the country.�
