KATHY NAJIMY JOINS THE CAST OF "NUMB3RS" IN A RECURRING ROLE BEGINNING FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17, ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 26 -- Kathy Najimy will join the cast of the drama NUMB3RS in a recurring role starting Friday, Nov. 17 on the CBS Television Network. Najimy will portray Dr. Mildred "Millie" French, Cal Sci's new department head for physics, math and astronomy and Charlie Eppes' (David Krumholtz) new boss.
For the past 10 seasons, Kathy Najimy has provided the voice of Peggy Hill on "King of the Hill." Her additional television credits include starring opposite Kirstie Alley in "Veronica's Closet;" the television movies "If These Walls Could Talk 2," "Cinderelmo" and "In Search Of Dr. Seuss;" as well as the comedy specials "Kathy & Mo Show: Parallel Lives" and the 1996 version entitled "Kathy & Mo: The Dark Side." Najimy guest starred on "Chicago Hope," "She TV," "Fool For Love," "Early Edition" and "Ellen." Najimy has voiced over 100 cartoons and animated projects. For film, she is best known for her portrayal of Sister Mary Patrick in "Sister Act" and "Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit." Her other film credits include "The Scream Team," "Hocus Pocus," "Rat Race," "Hope Floats," "Nevada," "Cats Don't Dance," "Zack And Reba," "This Is My Life," "The Fisher King," "Soapdish," "The Hard Way," and cameo appearances in "It's Pat," "The Wedding Planner," "Jeffrey," "The Big K" and Margaret Cho's "Bam Bam and Celeste."
On stage, Najimy starred as the legendary Mae West in "Dirty Blonde" both on Broadway and at The Old Globe Theatre. She starred in the Off-Broadway production of the original "Kathy & Mo Show: Parallel Lives" and recently returned to Broadway in "Afterbirth: Kathy and Mo's Greatest Hits." Najimy performed in "V-day" on Broadway, and in "The Vagina Monologues" at Madison Square Garden, with Susan Sarandon, Gloria Steinem and Alanis Morrisette. Her other stage work includes over a dozen musicals, including "Godspell" and "Grease," five years with the feminist theater "Sisters On Stage" and "It's My Party," her one-woman show. Najimy directed the Off-Broadway critical hit "Back To Bacharach And David" and several other off off Broadway shows.
In NUMB3RS, Don Eppes (Rob Morrow) recruits Charlie Eppes (David Krumholtz) to help the FBI Bureau solve a wide range of challenging crimes in Los Angeles. Inspired by actual events, NUMB3RS depicts how the confluence of police work and mathematics provides unexpected revelations and answers to the most perplexing criminal questions. NUMB3RS is broadcast Fridays (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
