IT'S MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL FOR NBC'S ACCLAIMED 'FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS' AS A NEW EPISODE IS SCHEDULED TO RUN MONDAY, OCTOBER 30

BURBANK October 20, 2006 NBC will light up the gridiron on Monday, October 30 with a special broadcast of an original episode of the critically acclaimed new drama "Friday Night Lights" (10-11 p.m. ET). The original episode will air on Monday night only in place of a previously announced repeat broadcast of "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip."

In the episode "Git 'Er Done," with the Arnett Mead High School game just days away, Ray "Voodoo" Tatom (guest star Aldis Hodge) proves he may not be the leader the team needs as he clashes with stressed-out Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler) and fellow players alike. Meanwhile, Lyla Garrity (Minka Kelly) hates herself even more as her secret relationship with Tim Riggins (Taylor Kitsch) continues. Elsewhere, Tyra Collette (Adrianne Palicki) reveals her sensitive side when she falls for Connor Hayes (guest star Patrick J. Adams), a young businessman from Los Angeles.

In addition, rehabilitating first-string quarterback Jason Street (Scott Porter) shows signs of renewed life when his new roommate Herc (guest star Steve Rankin), an ex-Olympian quadriplegic, introduces him to a "quad"-rugby game called "Murderball." Emotions run high as Riggins and Jason reunite for the first time since the accident when the entire Panther team visits him at rehab on their way to the big game. With backup Matt Saracen (Zach Gilford) on the bench and "Voodoo" leading the team, Coach Taylor worries that he and his family could be packing their bags with a loss to Arnett Mead. Aimee Teegarden, Connie Britton, and Jesse Plemons also star.

The same "Friday Night Lights" episode will be rebroadcast in the series' regular day and time on Tuesday, October 31 (8-9 p.m. ET).

The series is executive-produced by Peter Berg (the film "Friday Night Lights," "The Rundown"), as well as Jason Katims ("Roswell"), Brian Grazer ("The Da Vinci Code," "Cinderella Man," "A Beautiful Mind"), David Nevins ("Arrested Development") and Sarah Aubrey ("Bad Santa," "The Kingdom"). "Friday Night Lights" is a production of Imagine Television, NBC Universal Television Studio and Film 44.
