Hallmark Channel Greenlights New RHI Entertainment Productions

NEW YORK -- RHI Entertainment has received the greenlight to produce no less than 12 original television movies and three miniseries for a 2007 delivery to the Hallmark Channel. The agreement was announced today by Robert Halmi, Jr., President and CEO of RHI Entertainment.

This domestic production arrangement is indicative of the incredible range and value of the RHI product. By combining marquee talent, exotic shooting locations, high production values and powerful storylines, RHI Entertainment consistently delivers large-scale productions with cinema-release quality.

The first three of these telefilms are currently in production on the West Coast.

Claire stars Valerie Bertinelli (Touched by an Angel) as a widowed mother of two who possesses psychic powers.

In Spring Thaw, Melissa Gilbert (Little House on the Prairie) portrays a tough New York City attorney attempting to reconnect with her ailing father, played by Ken Howard (In Her Shoes).

Love is a Four Letter Word is a romantic comedy about divorce lawyers featuring an all-star cast that includes Teri Polo (Meet The Parents), Robert Mailhouse (Sports Night), Barry Bostwick (Spin City) and Donna Mills (Knots Landing).

The Hallmark Channel is now one of the most popular cable networks in the US, due in part to our broad range of original, quality movies and miniseries, said Robert Halmi, Jr. We are excited that RHI Entertainment will continue to be a part of the Hallmark Channel.

This recent agreement continues the long-standing relationship between the two companies. Since their first deal in 2000, RHI has delivered over 150 movies and miniseries to the Hallmark Channel including the highly rated Meet the Santas, Love Comes Softly, and The Reading Room.

RHI Entertainment is a global leader in the production and distribution of groundbreaking miniseries and movies for television. Since the companys inception, under the guidance of Robert Halmi, Sr. and Robert Halmi, Jr., RHI has produced and distributed over 4,000 hours of quality television programming, received 70 Emmy Awards and outperformed the competition annually in viewer ratings. Currently, RHI provides 40-60 new television movies and miniseries a year to networks worldwide.
