Universal City, Calif. -- October 4, 2006 -- A brilliant and unconventional police detective burrows deep into the minds of criminals to solve brutal murders in Law & Order: Criminal Intent- Season Two, coming to DVD on December 12, 2006 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The critically acclaimed series from Emmy Award-winning writer-producer Dick Wolf features Vincent D'Onofrio (Men in Black) as Detective Robert Goren, a brainy investigator with an uncanny knack for asking just the right questions. Kathryn Erbe ("Oz") plays Watson to Goren's Holmes as his partner Alex Eames, with Jamey Sheridan (Syriana) as head of the NYPD's Major Case Squad, Captain James Deakins, and Courtney B. Vance as Manhattan District Attorney Ron Carver. The highly collectible five-disc set contains all 23 episodes of the show, as well as nearly a half-hour of deleted scenes that give viewers an even more up-close and personal look at the criminal justice system.
In an ingenious twist on the enormously successful "Law & Order" recipe, the legal drama presents a heinous crime from the point of view of the perpetrator, a witness or even the victim. Allowing the audience behind-the-scenes knowledge denied the detectives, the show then sets Detectives Goren and Eames on the case. Each episode combines top-quality writing, arresting characters and complexly layered stories with a unique psychological component to create a singular, classic police procedural that lives up to the "Law & Order" standard of excellence. Pre-order close is November 7, 2006. The set is priced at $ 59.98 SRP.
SYNOPSIS
Law & Order: Criminal Intent- Season Two continues to follow offbeat Detective Robert "Bobby" Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio) and his partner, Detective Alexandra Eames (Kathryn Erbe) as they bust open some of the NYPD's most baffling mysteries. At the beginning of each show, a crime is presented from the point of view of one of its participants. As Goren and Eames investigate, Goren's formidable analytical powers, psychologically charged interrogation style, and unexpectedly wide and eclectic knowledge base allow him to ferret out clues that ordinary detectives would miss. Assistant District Attorney Ron Carver (Courtney B. Vance) provides the "Order" part of the equation, as a hardnosed lawyer whose strict adherence to legal procedure often clashes with Goren's seemingly outlandish hunches.
