[via press release from ABC]

ABC ENTERTAINMENT AND EPIC RECORDS PARTNER TO PRODUCE MUSIC VIDEO USING SCENES FROM THE NEW SEASON OF GREYS ANATOMY AND THE FRAYS VIDEO FROM THEIR GOLD DEBUT, HOW TO SAVE A LIFE

Video Debuts September 7, with an Extended Version Airing September 21, Prior to the Greys Anatomy Season Premiere

ABC and Epic Records have partnered to produce a music video combining scenes from Season Three of the hit series Greys Anatomy and The Frays title track video from their gold debut album, How to Save a Life. The four-minute video, featuring first looks from the first two episodes, premieres THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, following Greys Anatomy (9:00-10:02 p.m., ET). An extended version of the video with scenes from the first three episodes of the upcoming season will air as part of the special Greys Anatomy: Complications of the Heart, premiering THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET), leading into the Season Three premiere of the series.

Music has become an integral part of the storytelling on Greys Anatomy, and using a song like How to Save a Life really captures the tone and essence of the show, said Mike Benson, senior vice president, Marketing, ABC Entertainment. Its a great opportunity to take moments from the program and present them in a new and entertaining way for existing fans and people not familiar with the series.

The partnership of The Frays How to Save a Life and Greys Anatomy is a perfect match. The use of the song in last seasons episode was truly compelling and had a huge impact with fans of the band. Both How to Save a Life and Greys Anatomy have a similar emotional connection with fans. Its exciting to expand the pairing and spotlight this connection, said Lee Stimmel, senior vice president, Marketing, Epic Records.

About Greys Anatomy

The doctors of Greys Anatomy choose to live life to its fullest amidst the daily life-and-death stakes of their jobs. Its the drama and intensity of medical training mixed with the funny, sexy, painful lives of interns who are discovering that neither medicine nor relationships can be defined in black and white. Real life only comes in shades of grey.

Greys Anatomy stars Ellen Pompeo as Meredith Grey, Patrick Dempsey as Derek Shepherd, James Pickens, Jr. as Richard Webber, T.R. Knight as George OMalley, Sandra Oh as Cristina Yang, Katherine Heigl as Isobel Izzie Stevens, Chandra Wilson as Miranda Bailey, Isaiah Washington as Preston Burke, Justin Chambers as Alex Karev, Kate Walsh as Addison Shepherd and Sara Ramirez as Dr. Callie Torres.

Shonda Rhimes (Introducing Dorothy Dandridge) is creator and executive producer. Mark Gordon (Saving Private Ryan), Betsy Beers (Casanova), Peter Horton (thirtysomething) and Krista Vernoff (Law & Order) are executive producers. Greys Anatomy is a Touchstone Television Production.

Comprised of Isaac Slade (vocals, piano), Joe King (guitar, vocals), Ben Wysocki (drums) and Dave Welsh (guitar), the band has struck a huge chord with audiences and turned their organic, grassroots success into RIAA certified Gold for their freshman album, How to Save a Life. The title track How to Save a Life was inspired by Slades experience as a mentor to a crack-addicted teen and has resonated with fans in some truly moving ways. The band is currently on a sold-out U.S. and world tour.
