This Marks the Third Time a Missing Person Has Been Found Following a "WITHOUT A TRACE" PSA

Kristy Ormsby, a 26-year-old woman missing for two years, was located this week in Jackson County, North Carolina after she was the missing person featured in a PSA during the May 4 broadcast of the CBS Thursday night drama WITHOUT A TRACE and also featured on CBS NEWS' "THE EARLY SHOW" on May 5.

Ormsby, a single mother of a 5-year-old girl from Kendall County, Ill., disappeared two years ago after failing to meet her parents for dinner. Her then- boyfriend, James Bradstreet, who was wanted for attempted murder, went missing at the same time. On Wednesday, May 10, following a tip to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina, detectives from the Sheriff's office, as well as Federal agents, apprehended Bradstreet without incident. Ormsby will be reunited with her family in Illinois.

This was the first tip authorities received in the two years that Ormsby had been missing.

This marks the third time a missing person has been found following a WITHOUT A TRACE PSA, the second for THE EARLY SHOW. In July 2005, 8-year-old Nicholas Antonio Candela and his 7-year-old sister Gio' Annah were located in Tuckahoe, N.Y., after a WITHOUT A TRACE viewer provided information to the FBI. In April 2006, an 18-month-old girl was recovered in Tarrant, Ala. following profiles on the child in WITHOUT A TRACE and THE EARLY SHOW.

Prior to the September 2002 premiere of WITHOUT A TRACE, a fictional drama about the missing persons unit of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, CBS joined forces with the FBI to profile a new missing person in a PSA each week, even during rebroadcasts. Each broadcast since the series' premiere has featured a PSA asking for the public's help to find a real-life missing person. The PSA includes a picture and descriptive information about a missing person with a message asking viewers to call their nearest FBI office if they have seen the person or have any information relevant to the case.

WITHOUT A TRACE stars Anthony LaPaglia as the head of the Missing Persons Squad of the FBI. The sole responsibility of this special task force is to find missing persons by applying advanced psychological profiling techniques to peel back the layers of the victims' lives and trace their whereabouts in an effort to discover whether they have been abducted, murdered, committed suicide or simply run-away. The series also stars Poppy Montgomery, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Enrique Murciano and Eric Close.
