THE UNIT, the season's Number One new series, topped NBC and ABC combined in viewers and key demos while building on its first-run "NCIS" lead-in, according to preliminary Nielsen affiliate ratings for Tuesday, April 4.
At 9:00 PM, THE UNIT finished second in households (9.8/15), viewers (15.28m), adults 25-54 (5.8/13) and adults 18-49 (4.3/11) -- all behind FOX's "House". THE UNIT beat NBC and ABC combined in households (vs. 6.2/10, +58%), viewers (vs. 9.15m, +67%), adults 25-54 (vs. 4.3/10, +35%) and adults 18-49 (vs. 3.9/10, +10%).
THE UNIT built on its "NCIS" lead-in by +23% in adults 18-49, +21% in adults 25-54 and +33% in adults 18-34.
NCIS was a solid second in households (9.9/16), viewers (15.28m), adults 25-54 (4.8/12) and adults 18-49 (3.5/10) -- all behind FOX's "American Idol". NCIS beat NBC and ABC combined in households (vs. 5.9/09, +68%), viewers (vs. 8.93m, +71%), adults 25-54 (vs. 3.6/09, +33%) and adults 18-49 (vs. 3.0/08, +17%).
CSI: MIAMI (R) (S) was second in households (6.6/11), viewers (9.37m), adults 25-54 (4.1/10) and adults 18-49 (3.2/08).
For the night, CBS was second in households (8.7/14), viewers (13.31m), adults 25-54 (4.9/12) and adults 18-49 (3.6/10).

THE UNIT beat NBC and ABC combined in households (vs. 6.2/10, +60%), viewers (vs. 9.13m, +69%), adults 25-54 (vs. 4.3/09, +37%) and adults 18-49 (vs. 3.9/10, +10%).
THE UNIT built on its "NCIS" lead-in by +23% in adults 18-49, +20% in adults 25-54 and +29% in adults 18-34.
NCIS was a solid second in households (10.0/16), viewers (15.52m), adults 25-54 (4.9/12) and adults 18-49 (3.5/10) -- all behind FOX's "American Idol". NCIS beat NBC and ABC combined in households (vs. 5.8/09, +72%), viewers (vs. 8.69m, +79%), adults 25-54 (vs. 3.5/08, +40%) and adults 18-49 (vs. 2.9/08, +21%).
