Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends Set for Big Year in 2006

One-Hour Feature to Reveal Origins of Favorite Imaginary Friends

The hit Cartoon Network series Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends will make a big splash in 2006 with all-new episodes, programming events, a new movie and a DVD release of the best episodes. Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends, just given the green light for a full season of 13 new episodes, airs daily on Cartoon Network.

In Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends, the shy Mac has a perfect alter ego in his imaginary friend, Blooregard Q. Kazoo. Bloo is an impulsive and brash creature who lives at Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends, a haven for wayward imaginary friends like Wilt, Eduardo, Coco and others who have been separated from the kids who invented them.

The hit series from animator Craig McCracken, creator of The Powerpuff Girls, premiered on Cartoon Network in August 2004 and became a runaway hit. The premiere scored the highest rating and delivery ever for a Cartoon Network original series telecast with kids 2-11, boys 2-11, kids 6-11 and boys 6-11. In its regularly scheduled time slot, Fridays at 7 p.m. (ET, PT), Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends kicks off the Fridays block with strong ratings and delivery. New episodes post double-digit gains across all demographics.

The adventures of Mac and Bloo continue with 13 new episodes beginning in May during Fridays, Cartoon Networks signature weekend franchise. In addition to new episodes every Friday night at 7 p.m. (ET, PT), there will be themed programming stunts around its weekday strip. And if thats not enough, Mac and Bloo will also be the hosts of Cartoon Networks summer packaging.

For the first time ever a one-hour movie will reveal the creators of favorite imaginary friends, but not without some hi-jinx and a few adventures along the way. At the Fosters picnic celebration, creators of their imaginary friends come to visit their old pals. The little girl who created Eduardo has now grown up, the two scientists who studied Coco come back to investigate, but Wilts creator never arrives. Wilt sets out on a road trip in search of answers, while the Fosters crew follows behind on his journey. The Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends feature movie will premiere during fourth quarter, as will a DVD compiling some of the series best episodes.
