Depression Era Drama Spotlights One Womans Dreams for Her Family Despite Hardship and Opposition

Academy Award winner Shirley Jones, two-time daytime Emmy Award nominee and All My Children star Sydney Penny, Emmy nominee Tom Bosley, and star of stage, film and television, Jason Gedrick pool their considerable talents in Hidden Places, a powerful drama about a young widow who finds a guardian angel in the form of a hobo who comes to her rural community looking for work. The Hallmark Channel Original movie premieres Saturday, January 28, (9/8c).

In Hidden Places, Sydney Penny portrays Eliza Wyatt, a sweet and attractive widow and mother of two in her mid 30s. Life on the farm with her children and her harsh father-in-law, Frank, has become extremely difficult due to the Great Depression. While the small family struggles to bring in the orange crop, Frank suffers a fatal heart attack, leaving the family one payment away from bank foreclosure.

Elizas Aunt Batty (Shirley Jones), Franks sister, arrives to help her brothers daughter-in-law with the farm and the children. Her positive attitude and faith bolster the family during these hard times. However, Eliza believes that it will take a guardian angel to help her hold on to the only home she has ever really known.

That guardian angel arrives in the form of Gabe Harper (Jason Gedrick), a down- on-his-luck hobo looking for food and shelter in exchange for work. With a vulnerable heart, Eliza is drawn to Gabes kind and helpful spirit but his secretive ways cause Eliza to distrust Gabes motives, fearing that he may jeopardize what little stability the family has.

With the help and support of Aunt Batty, Eliza begins to trust and understand Gabe.

Hidden Places is a Hallmark Entertainment presentation of an Alpine Medien Production in association with Larry Levinson Productions. Robert Halmi, Jr., and Larry Levinson are Executive Producers.
