Freshman Drama "Close to Home" Takes Up Full Season Residence In Its New Friday Time Period

CBS has announced January premiere dates for two of its mid-season series, slated two additional new series for March debuts and has given a full season order to freshman drama CLOSE TO HOME.

LOVE MONKEY, based on the best-selling book by Kyle Smith, revolving around Tom Farrell (Tom Cavanagh, "Ed"), a 30-something up and coming single record executive who's navigating the tumultuous and highly amusing waters of work and dating in New York City, will premiere Tuesday, Jan. 17 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT).

LOVE MONKEY will bridge THE AMAZING RACE: FAMILY EDITION and the forthcoming ninth installment of THE AMAZING RACE.

LOVE MONKEY also stars Jason Priestley ("Beverly Hills, 90210"), Larenz Tate ("Crash," "Ray"), Christopher Wiehl ("Playmakers"), Judy Greer ("Elizabethtown"), Ivana Milicevic ("The Mind of the Married Man") and Katherine Lanasa ("Alfie").

LOVE MONKEY is produced by Sony Pictures Television, in association with Paramount Network Television. Mark Johnson, Michael Rauch and John Wirth are executive producers.

THE JENNA ELFMAN SHOW (working title), starring Jenna Elfman ("Dharma & Greg") in a comedy about an attractive, single, semi-workaholic, with one simple goal: find true love while balancing a career as a successful lawyer, premieres Monday, Jan. 23 (9:30-10:00 PM, ET/PT).

THE JENNA ELFMAN SHOW also stars Dabney Coleman ("The Guardian"), Hugh Bonneville ("The Gathering Storm"), Josh Randall ("Ed"), Jillian Bach ("Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place") and Josh Stamberg ("A Lot Like Love").

THE JENNA ELFMAN SHOW is produced by Touchstone Television, in association with Paramount Network Television. Rob Hanning is executive producer. Seth Kurland and Eileen Conn are co-executive producers.

Freshman comedy OUT OF PRACTICE -- which has already been picked up for the full season, and ranks as television's Number One new comedy in households (8.1/12) and Number Two in viewers (12.02m) -- will return to the schedule in March.

Also scheduled for March are the premieres of the drama THE UNIT and the comedy THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE. Specific dates and time periods for the return of OUT OF PRACTICE and the premieres of THE UNIT and THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE will be announced at a later time.

THE UNIT stars Dennis Haysbert, Scott Foley, Robert Patrick, Regina Taylor, Max Martini, Michael Irby, Demore Barnes, Abby Brammell and Audrey Marie Anderson in an action drama that follows a covert team of Special Forces operatives as they risk their lives on undercover missions around the world, while their families maintain the home front, protecting their husband's secrets.

THE UNIT is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television. David Mamet and Shawn Ryan are executive producers.

THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus ("Seinfeld") in a comedy about a divorced working mom who is successfully juggling the daily stresses of motherhood and her business, while maintaining her fantastic relationship with her ex-husband�until his young, new girlfriend enters the picture, instantly complicating her life.

THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE also stars Clark Gregg ("The West Wing"), Hamish Linklater ("Fantastic Four"), Trevor Gagnon ("Big Fish"), Emily Rutherfurd ("The Ellen Show"), Tricia O'Kelley ("Gilmore Girls") and Alex Kapp Horner ("Maggie Winters").

THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE is produced by Warner Bros. Television. Kari Lizer is executive producer/writer and Andy Ackerman is executive producer/director.

In addition, CBS has given a full season order to its freshman drama CLOSE TO HOME.

Starring Jennifer Finnigan, Kimberly Elise, John Carroll Lynch and Christian Kane, CLOSE TO HOME has flourished since moving from Tuesday (10:00-11:00 PM) to Friday (9:00-10:00 PM).

In its two Friday broadcasts, CLOSE TO HOME has averaged 11.76 million viewers (up +19% from its Tuesday average of 9.85m), 3.2/10 in adults 18-49 (up +3% from 3.1/8) and 4.4/12 in adults 25-54 (up +13% from 3.9/9). CLOSE TO HOME has held 100% of its GHOST WHISPERER lead-in in viewers, +97% of its adult 18-49 lead-in and +96% of its adult 25-54 lead-in.

CLOSE TO HOME is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television, in association with Warner Bros. Television. Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Jim Leonard are executive producers.

With the addition of CLOSE TO HOME, CBS has now given full season orders to five of its six freshmen programs. As previously announced, the dramas CRIMINAL MINDS and GHOST WHISPERER and the comedies HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and OUT OF PRACTICE were also given full season commitments.
