BURBANK, Calif. -- October 28, 2005 -- NBC's November is brimming over with a month of event programs, including series featuring a live debate episode of "The West Wing," a special "3-D' episode of "Medium" and a two-hour "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," specials spotlighting Faith Hill, Penn & Teller and "Saturday Night Live: The '80s," plus a new movie version of "The Poseidon Adventure." Other high-profile series entries will be a two-hour episode of "The Apprentice," an offbeat "retro" hour -- circa 1962 -- of "Las Vegas," and the live, two-hour season finale of "The Biggest Loser."

In addition, NBC's series will feature such guest stars as Beau Bridges ("My Name Is Earl"), John Stamos (two episodes on "ER"), Danny Glover (ER"), Debbie Reynolds, Harry Connick Jr., Jason Biggs and Alec Baldwin all on "Will & Grace," Ellen DeGeneres ("Joey"), Annie Potts, Judith Light, Dean Cain, Veronica Cartwright, Teri Garr all on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," Tim Meadows ("The Office"), Lara Flynn Boyle, Dean Cain, Chubby Checker, Robert Goulet and magicians Criss Angel and Lance Burton, all on "Las Vegas" -- among others.

Thanksgiving Traditions are also served up on November 24, as NBC's annual "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade" will step off through the streets of Manhattan to kick off the annual Christmas holiday season. Following the parade is "The National Dog Show Presented by Purina." Likewise, the season's classic "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" will light up the New York City sky on November 30. NBC also celebrates the 40th anniversary of its classic daytime drama "Days of our Lives" on November 25.

"Joey and the Poker"

JOEY GOES ON "CELEBRITY POKER" -- In an effort to keep Joey (Matt LeBlanc) away from his attractive new interior designer, Alex (Andrea Anders) tries to teach him Texas Hold 'em. But when Joey gets frustrated with losing, she begins to get creative with the rules of the game -- which make things very interesting when Joey is asked to go on "Celebrity Poker." Drea de Matteo, Jennifer Coolidge and Paulo Costanzo also star.

WILL & GRACE -- (8:30-9 p.m.)
"The Hole Truth"

THE PRICE OF FAME; ALEC BALDWIN AND JASON BIGGS GUEST-STAR -- The day before Will's (Eric McCormack) charity auction and carnival, Jack (Sean Hayes) begins dating Baby Glenn (guest star Jason Biggs, "American Pie"), who is still riding his 15 minutes of fame from when he got trapped in a hole for three days in the 1980s. The two "celebrities" agree to be auctioned off for charity -- Baby Glenn's fans spend over $1,000 but Jack begins to question his own notoriety when no one bids on him. Meanwhile, Karen (Megan Mullally) just can't force herself to break up with Malcolm (guest star Alec Baldwin), so she recruits Grace (Debra Messing) to be his date to the carnival. But Grace can't stand his weird quirks and finally makes Karen confront him. Shelley Morrison also stars.

THE APPRENTICE -- (9-10 p.m.)
"Back to School"

HIGH FASHION AND HEATED WORDS -- The candidates take a recess from studying The Donald and become teachers themselves -- and events become heated when one candidate makes a derogatory comment towards a teammate. The winners get schooled in high fashion while the losers' debate in the boardroom as the 10th candidate is expelled from Trump Tower.

"Dream House"

THERE IS NO BUSINESS LIKE MONKEY BUSINESS IN THE E.R, DANNY GLOVER GUEST-STARS. -- Dr. Clemente (John Leguizamo), Abby (Maura Tierney) and Neela (Parminder Nagra) secretly care for a VIP patient while Dubenko (Leland Orser) tortures the staff via a robotic television camera from home. Meanwhile, Sam (Linda Cardellini) is coerced into a management role and is given a dreadful task and Pratt is visited by his half-brother, prompting emotions from the past that remind him of his father's (guest star Danny Glover, "Lethal Weapon") abandonment. 'THREE WISHES' TEAM GRANTS WISH FOR UTAH TOYMAKERS -- The "Three Wishes" team of Amy Grant, Carter Oosterhouse, Eric Stromer and Diane Mizota travel to Cedar City, Utah, where they have several surprises in store for a remarkable retired couple who make toys for underprivileged children all over the world. They also help a young girl pay tribute to the fire department whose instruction saved her life, and aid a courageous young mother gain the skills and confidence she needs to better face the challenges brought on by the recent loss of her sight. World-class climber and author Erik Weihenmayer -- the first blind man in history to reach the summit of the world's highest peak Mount Everest -- makes a special guest appearance.

'THE WEST WING' GOES LIVE FOR FIRST TIME -- In a first for "The West Wing," the Emmy Award-winning series will broadcast a live episode featuring a debate between presidential candidates Congressman Matt Santos (Jimmy Smits) and Senator Arnold Vinick (Alan Alda). Two live versions will be telecast, one for the East Coast and another for the West Coast.

LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT --(9-11 p.m.)
"In the Wee Small Hours Part I & II"

IN TWO-HOUR EPISODE BOTH SETS OF SERIES DETECTIVES PROBE DISAPPEARANCE OF IOWA TEEN DURING HER TRIP TO NEW YORK -- In a two-hour movie featuring both sets of the series' detectives for the first time -- a visiting Iowa teen disappears during her New York City school trip, prompting a massive media frenzy that engulfs Detectives Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio), Eames (Kathryn Erbe), Logan (Chris Noth) and Barek (Annabella Sciorra) when their prime suspect (guest star Matt O'Leary) is a powerful judge's son. Laura (Lake Bell) and Rich (Jay R. Ferguson) enlist the help of Jackson (Austin Nichols) when her home is mysteriously ransacked by strangers, sending the trio under the radar as they travel up the coast. Meanwhile, Nimrod's uncontrollable behavior forces Miles (Carter Jenkins) and Phil (Eddie Hassell) to steal a pizza delivery car and lead the police on a chase to the beach where Miles lets Nim go in the ocean. "Everything Old Is You Again"

RETRO EPISODE LOOKS BACK AT VEGAS CIRCA 1962; CHUBBY CHECKER TWISTS IN AS GUEST STAR -- When Danny (Josh Duhamel) wonders what it would be like to work at a casino in the vintage 1960s, he becomes the focus of a flashback to the Jubilee Hotel and Casino circa 1962 where he is the director of entertainment. In the look back, the new president of the Jubilee Ed (James Caan) designates Mike (James Lesure) as the head of security and Mary (Nikki Cox) to take over the hotel restaurant while he convinces Delinda (Molly Sims) to open a dress shop -- despite her wish to become a showgirl. Elsewhere, Sam (Vanessa Marcil), now a call girl, is almost banned from the casino but escapes punishment by promising to bring all of her high-roller clients to the Jubilee. Chubby Checker guest-stars as himself.

"Judge, Jury & Executioner"

IF ONLY JUSTICE WASN'T SO BLIND -- Conflict arises when Joe (Jake Weber) serves on a jury that is deciding the fate of a man who keeps showing up in Allison's (Patricia Arquette) dreams. Miguel Sandoval, David Cubitt, Sofia Vassilieva and Maria Lark also star.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8

THE BIGGEST LOSER -- (8-9 p.m.)

JUMP START -- The six remaining players learn that all teams are dissolved so they can all go head-to-head against each other in competitions. This week's temptation puts each of the trainers atop dunk tanks -- and the challenge has contestants using a giant "jump rope machine" with a flimsy rope that easily breaks if stepped on. Also, one contestant surprises the group with a new look and two of them face off in a showdown. Caroline Rhea ("Sabrina, the Teenage Witch") hosts.

MY NAME IS EARL -- (9-9:30 p.m.)
"Stole Beer from a Golfer"

WILL LIE FOR BEER - This time, Earl (Jason Lee) decides to pick something simple from his list -- like stealing beer from a golfer -- so that he and Randy (Ethan Suplee) can attend the county fair like they do every year. Seven months earlier, Earl and Randy began fixing golf games in order to keep scoring free beer from Scott (guest star Johnny Galecki), who would purchase drinks for everyone whenever he hit a hole-in-one. To atone for this sin, Earl buys Scott case upon case of beer. He soon discovers, however, that in order to fully cross Scott off of his list, Earl must help Scott regain the life that he had before he became obsessed with the sport. When Randy suddenly disappears -- upset that Earl's list is taking a priority over him -- Earl soon realizes that his behavior is becoming a little obsessive. Nadine Velazquez also stars.

TIM MEADOWS GUEST-STARS -- When Michael (Steve Carell) and boss Jan (Melora Hardin) go after a new client (guest star Tim Meadows, NBC's "Saturday Night Live," "Mean Girls"), Michael surprises his boss in more ways than one. Meanwhile, Jim (John Krasinski) finds a screenplay written by Michael -- and the cubicle jockeys at Dunder Mifflin have a hilarious time acting it out. Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fischer and B.J. As the investigation unfolds, new forensic evidence surfaces until Anna (guest-star Lisa Emery) surfaces, claiming her stepfather (guest-star Richard Bright) was the killer. Meanwhile, back at the Pentagon, Sam and Colonel McNulty (Dennis Hopper) help clear JT's name and bring down CIA Director Metcalfe who is partly responsible for Angie's death. EIGHT CANDIDATES REMAIN -- Martha challenges the eight remaining candidates with the task of selling an outdoor product live on QVC. While one team watches two members battle each other for the most screen time, the other team watches as one of its members suffers performance anxiety that causes a last minute substitution. The losing team meets Martha in the conference room and one candidate is sent home.

LAW & ORDER -- (10-11 p.m.)
"House of Cards"

WHO KILLED A YOUNG SINGLE MOTHER AND STOLE HER BABY? -- The bludgeoned slaying of a young, unwed mother and the subsequent kidnapping of her baby put Detectives Fontana (Dennis Farina) and Green (Jesse L. Martin) on the trail of a fleeing, forty-something woman (guest star Wendy Moniz) -- who is actually a depressed wife who stole the infant while pretending to be pregnant. But while the suspect's savvy lawyers plan a "post-partum psychosis" defense, A.D.A.s McCoy (Sam Waterston) and Borgia (Annie Parisse) have reason to believe that someone else was involved in the "sale" of the child, as well as the murder. S. Epatha Merkerson and Fred Dalton Thompson also star.

JOEY'S PAST COMES BACK TO HAUNT HIM NOW THAT HE'S HIT THE BIG TIME; ELLEN DEGENERES GUEST-STARS -- An old girlfriend of Joey's (Matt LeBlanc) is still mad at him for something he did to her years ago, so she sends him a tape from his past with embarrassing footage and threatens to go public. To appease her, he agrees to apologize on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," where host Ellen DeGeneres guest-stars as herself. Drea de Matteo, Jennifer Coolidge, Andrea Anders and Paulo Costanzo also star.

WILL & GRACE
"Love Is in the Airplace"

THE EX FACTOR; HARRY CONNICK, JR. RETURNS AS LEO -- While en route to London, Will (Eric McCormack) and Grace (Debra Messing) spot Grace's ex-husband Leo (guest star Harry Connick Jr.) on their flight. Will charms a pair of gay flight attendants, who also happen to be dating, so he can smuggle Grace into first class to talk to Leo. Back in New York, Jack (Sean Hayes) tries to reunite Karen (Megan Mullally) and Rosario (Shelley Morrison), but this proves difficult when their stubbornness outweighs his good intentions. Also complicating matters is Karen's new manipulative maid Leni (guest star Millicent Martin, "Frasier"), who is not anxious to give up her comfortable new job.

In addition, a selfless young girl who collected 6,000 books for her Girl Scout project wishes for a library for her town, and students wish to save the job of their beloved music teacher who is losing her hearing and going deaf. Singer Brandi Carlile and Cleveland Browns football player Phil Dawson make special appearances.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 13

PENN & TELLER: OFF THE DEEP END --(7-9 p.m.)

ROGUE MAGICIANS PENN & TELLER TAKE A DIVE UNDERWATER -- Two-time Emmy Award winning rogue magicians Penn & Teller ("Penn & Teller Go Public," "Penn & Teller's Bulls***t") make a full-sized submarine disappear underwater in the Caribbean for the first time as just one of their amazing feats in this new two-hour special. The duo's trademark sardonic commentary accompanies each magic trick, and as they do in their Las Vegas stage act, Penn & Teller also reveal for the audience members who want to know: how they pull off their illusions. Multi-platinum-album recording star Aaron Carter ("Aaron's Party," "Saturday Night") guest-stars in one of the illusions. Videotaped offshore of Grand Cayman Island and the Atlantis, Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas, the special features classically inspired and traditionally staged magic performed for the first time on the ocean floor. Highlights also include acts with hungry sharks, "psychic" dolphins -- and the duo actually walking on water in a newly devised super illusion.

SNL SPECIAL: THE '80S (9-11 p.m.)

"SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE IN THE '80S: LOST AND FOUND" -- Following up on his critically acclaimed and Emmy-nominated documentary "Live From New York: The First 5 Years of Saturday Night Live," writer-director-producer Kenneth Bowser ("Easy Riders & Raging Bulls") has created a look at the rollercoaster ride that "SNL" endured throughout the 1980s. The stories are told by many of the show's biggest stars and take "SNL" all over the map -- from near cancellation, to re-invention and back again. Viewers will get a rare, intimate look at the behind-the-scenes changes at the most influential television comedy in history and its journey to firmly rooting itself as the comedy institution it has become over 30 years.

SUBMERSIBLE SETBACK -- Laura (Lake Bell), Rich (Jay R. Ferguson) and Jackson (Austin Nichols)) race to finish the submersible they are building, and despite several setbacks during a test run, they take it out to the spawning site. As Rich and Laura begin their descent, they spot the creatures spawning -- but a system failure causes the submersible to freefall, putting them in jeopardy. Elsewhere, Miles' (Carter Jenkins) parents consider sending him to a boot camp for problem children, but re-think their decision and send him to an aquarium for volunteer work. Ian Anthony Dale and Leighton Meester also star.

LAS VEGAS -- (9-10 p.m.)
"Bold, Beautiful and Blue"

KASHMIR SAPPHIRE IN VEGAS; ROBERT GOULET, CRISS ANGEL AND LANCE BURTON GUEST-STAR -- Danny (Josh Duhamel), Monica (Lara Flynn Boyle) and FBI Agent Portis (guest star Hank Stratton) review the security measures taken to protect the "Kashmir Sapphire," a priceless gemstone on loan and displayed at the Montecito -- and Danny impresses Monica so much that she decides a big promotion is in order. Meanwhile, Monica tries to lure Ed (James Caan) back to the Montecito with a Porsche; a song performed by guest star Robert Goulet (as himself) -- and finally an apology in person. Elsewhere, Mike (James Lesure), Mary (Nikki Cox) and Delinda (Molly Sims) are amazed by the Montecito's guest magician, Criss Angel. LAST ONE IN THE POOL IS A WINNER -- The guys open up and share their dreams before all five remaining contestants take on a nightmarish endurance challenge. By wrapping their arms and legs around a one-foot diameter tube suspended before them while above a swimming pool, they hang on as long as they can. The last one to fall makes a splash as the winner of this event. Caroline Rhea ("Sabrina, the Teenage Witch") hosts.

MY NAME IS EARL -- (9-9:30 p.m.)
"Joy's Wedding"

SOMEONE OLD, SOMEONE NEW -- Earl (Jason Lee) learns that Joy (Jaime Pressly) has neglected to invite him to her wedding to Darnell (Eddie Steeples) after seeing Randy's (Ethan Suplee) invitation -- which instructs him to bring "anyone but Earl." Randy invites Catalina (Nadine Velazquez) to be his date since he's excited about the opportunity to dance with her. Joy has also conveniently scheduled the wedding on Earl's birthday so that all of their friends will be unable to celebrate with him. Consequently, Earl drunkenly crashes the ceremony and accidentally breaks Joy's nose in the process. Earl helps Joy plan her perfect wedding and the two finally start to get along -- maybe a little too well.

THE OFFICE -- (9:30-10 p.m.)
"Performance Review"

EVERYONE'S ON EDGE -- ESPECIALLY MICHAEL -- WHEN IT'S TIME FOR PERFORMANCE REVIEWS -- On performance review day, the employees of Dunder Mifflin meet with Michael (Steve Carell) to discuss their work performances -- but the only thing on Michael's mind is his own impending review from his own boss Jan later that day. Meanwhile, dim Dwight (Rainn Wilson) thinks that Thursday is Friday and the rest of the gang works hard to keep him under that mistaken impression while Michael raids the employee suggestion box in search of new ideas for his showdown with Jan. Jenna Fischer, John Krasinski and B.J. Novak also star.

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT (10-11 p.m.)

NEW WIFE OF SERIAL RAPIST FALLS INTO COMA LEAVING HER HUSBAND TO DECIDE HER FATE; DEAN CAIN, TERI GARR, VERONICA CARTWRIGHT, JUDITH LIGHT AND FRED DALTON THOMPSON GUEST-STAR -- When a series of rapes is linked to a speed-dating service, Detective Benson (Mariska Hargitay) goes undercover and discovers Mike Jergens (guest star Dean Cain, "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman") is the assailant. As the case progresses, Jergens' insecure girlfriend Cora Kennison (guest star Tina Holmes, "Six Feet Under") -- an alcoholic and bulimic -- becomes an unwilling pawn as both Benson and attorney Minerva Grahame-Bishop (guest star Teri Garr, "Young Frankenstein") seek to persuade Kennison to testify for their respective sides -- despite her mother's (guest star Veronica Cartwright, "Alien") insistence that her daughter is too fragile. Kennison opts to marry Jergens in the hope that spousal privilege will save her from taking the stand, but since the rapes occurred before they married, she is still forced to testify. Distraught, Kennison drinks to excess, leaving her in an irreversible coma, and her fate in the hands of her husband. "Delta Does Detroit"

JT AND HIS TEAM FACE TERRORISM ON U.S. SOIL -- JT (Benjamin Bratt) and a Special Ops team are dispatched to Detroit where a radical religious group takes over a mosque and keeps its members hostage. JT must balance how much he is able to assist in saving lives with the law that requires that the FBI deal with the situation on their own. Dennis Hopper, Aunjanue Ellis and Kelly Rutherford also star.

THE APPRENTICE MARTHA STEWART -- (9-10 p.m.)
"The Coffee Achievers"

For their challenge, they have enough quarters to equal the weight they have lost since the first episode placed on their backs. Weighted with coins, they must scale the side of the building, and then make a second trip up the side -- minus the extra weight. The contestant with the most improved time between the climbs wins, and even gets to keep their quarters. Caroline Rhea ("Sabrina, the Teenage Witch") hosts.

Four years prior, Carl ran for mayor and his campaign was going very well until a misunderstanding between Earl and a police officer was caught on tape and broadcast as the opposing candidate's campaign commercial. Now Earl submits his father's name to run again -- even though Carl refuses to run. So Earl, Randy (Ethan Suplee), and Catalina (Nadine Velazquez) recruit unregistered voters to boost Carl's numbers, hoping to win not only the election -- but also a newfound relationship with his father for Earl. NBC'S DAYTIME DRAMA 'DAYS OF OUR LIVES' CELEBRATES 40 YEARS -- NBC's classic daytime drama "Days of our Lives" marks its 40th Anniversary (after its November 1965 premiere) with a special episode broadcast during its regular time period (1 p.m. ET) where Hope (Kristian Alfonso) plans a special gift for Alice (Frances Reid, who has played Alice Horton for the entire 40-year run on 'Days'). With Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) and Julie's (Susan Seaforth Hayes) help, Hope builds an interactive family tree for Alice on the web featuring clips, photos and poems. While organizing the project, all the Horton women recall the special times they've shared over the past 40 years with their friends, family and loved ones.

NBC PRESENT THE NETWORK TELEVISION PREMIERE OF THE SUCCESSFUL ANIMATED TALE WITH NEVER BEFORE SEEN FOOTAGE - In a strange and colorful land populated by fairy tale characters, an ogre named Shrek (voiced by Mike Myers) must go on a quest to rescue the fair princess Fiona (voiced by Cameron Diaz) from a dark tower guard by a dragon so that she can live happily ever-after with the allegedly valiant Lord Farquaad (voiced by John Lithgow). Along for the adventure is Shrek's "noble steed" Donkey (voiced by Eddie Murphy), who battles alongside the ogre as he fights for the noblest of motives, to rid his beloved swamp from unwanted storybook creatures in the hopes of living a happy and completely lonely existence. Making its network television debut, the animated tale will feature extra scenes deleted from the theatrical release as well as the in store DVD.
