UPN's season surges on the strength of EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS, TOP MODEL, VERONICA MARS, SMACKDOWN and the Monday comedies, with gains in key demos through the first five weeks of the season (9/19/05-10/23/05), including 13% in adults 18-34 (1.7/5), 15% in women 18-34 (2.3/6), 6% in women 18-49 (1.9/5) and 3% in total viewers (3.6mil), through the week ending Oct. 23.
Season to date, UPN is up on four nights of the week in adults 18-34, and is up or flat on all five nights of the week in women 18-34.
Through the first five weeks of the season, UPN remains ahead of the WB in adults 18-34 and women 18-34.
EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS ranked as the #4 program on television last week among teens (3.3/11). AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL ranked #13 among all series last week among women 18-34 (4.8/14) and teens (2.4/9). UPN's Monday comedies delivered a strong showing last week as ALL OF US broke into the top 10 shows of the week among teens (2.6/8), ranking #9, and GIRLFRIENDS came in at #13 among teens (2.4/7).

UPN's Monday comedies beat Fox and the WB from 8-10PM among women 18-34 (2.6/7) and women 18-49 (2.4/6) and beat the WB in adults 18-34 (1.9/5), adults 18-49 (1.7/4) and viewers (3.9mil).
UPN's Monday comedy block was up versus the same night a year ago in adults 18-34 (+19%), adults 18-49 (+4%), women 18-49 (9%) and viewers (+3%).
GIRLFRIENDS climbed to its largest audience (4.2mil) and best adults 18-34 (2.2/6) rating of the season.

AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL ranked first in its time period in adults 18-34 (3.2/10), women 18-34 (4.8/14) and women 18-49 (3.9/10).
TOP MODEL scored its best ratings of the cycle in adults 18-34
TOP MODEL posted big gains versus the year ago time period in adults 18-49 (+13%), adults 18-34 (+28%), women 18-34 (+14%) and women 18-49 (+15%).
At 9PM, VERONICA MARS scored its best ratings ever in women 18-49 (2.0/4) and matched series highs in women 18-34 (2.6/6) and adults 18-49 (1.4/3).
VERONICA MARS had strong week-to-week growth across key demos including +37% in women 18-34 and +18% in women 18-49.
VERONICA MARS beat an original "Related" on the WB in all key adult and female demo breaks.
From 8-10PM, UPN ranked second in women 18-34 (3.7/10) behind only ABC and was third, ahead of NBC and the WB, in adults 18-34 (2.5/7).

EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS, UPN�s critically acclaimed hit comedy, continues to reap huge rewards for the Network on Thursday, placing ahead of both FOX and ABC in adults 18-34.
EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS posted impressive year-to-year time period gains in total viewers (5.5 million, +27%), adults 18-49 (2.1/6, +31%), adults 18-34 (2.1/7, +31%), women 18-34 (2.6/8, +86%) and women 18-49 (2.6/7, +100%).
Versus tough Thursday night competition, EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS ranked third in women 18-34 and women 18-49.
Compared to the first five weeks of the 2004-05 broadcast season, CHRIS is improving the 8:00-8:30PM time period by +67% in adults 18-49, +71% in adults 18-34 and by +173% in both women 18-34 and women 18-49.
From 8-10PM, UPN placed fourth in adults 18-34 (1.4/4), putting it in the same competitive position with its new scripted lineup that UPN averaged with WWE SMACKDOWN! on Thursdays last season. UPN also placed fourth for the night in women 18-34 (1.9/5) ahead of FOX and ABC.
FRIDAY - 10/21/05
FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN garnered its largest audience (4.0mil) and best men 18-34 (2.0/8), persons 12-34 (1.7/7) and male 12-34 (2.2/10) ratings of the season.
SMACKDOWN won its time period in men 18-34 and persons 12-34 and ranked second in men 18-49.
SMACKDOWN improved on the year-ago time period average in total viewers (+56%), adults 18-49 (+17%), adults 18-34 (+100%), women 18-34 (+9%), men 18-49 (+73%) and men 18-34 (+300%).
