THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW ANNOUNCES FINALISTS FOR THE BE JERRY FOR A DAY NATIONAL CONTEST
CHICAGO, Ill. -- October 20, 2005 -- NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution's The Jerry Springer Show, one of television's leading talk shows with viewers across the globe, announced today the five finalists of its six-month search for the BE JERRY FOR A DAY contest -America will choose the winner, who will co-host the show's November 30th episode.
Auditions were held in major cities across the USA attracting thousands of Springer fans. In addition, millions of Springer fans across the USA had the opportunity to send in their audition tapes. The producers of the show have culled through all of the audition tapes and have selected the five finalists: Jimmy B. of Tupelo, MS; Lisa F. of New York, NY; Austin R. of Chicago, IL; Megan G. of Detroit, MI; and Ben V. of Phoenix, AZ.
Springer fans, who tune into The Jerry Springer Show the week of October 24, will have the opportunity to view each one of the five finalists' auditions. Viewers can then vote for their favorite candidate by signing onto www.jerryspringertv.com beginning October 31, 2005 through November 11, and/or text messaging their vote to 83000, plus the corresponding number for their preference: Jimmy - 1, Lisa - 2, Austin - 3, Megan - 4, Ben - 5.
