"NCIS" Tops 17 Million Viewers and Is Tuesday's Most Watched Program For the Second Straight Week
"The Amazing Race 8" Surges to Season Highs in Viewers, Adults 18-49
and Adults 25-54
NCIS delivered its most watched episode ever, soaring past the 17 million viewer mark for the first time and was Tuesday's most watched program for the second straight week, according to preliminary Nielsen ratings for Oct. 18.
At 8:00 PM, NCIS was first in households (11.3/18), viewers (17.11m), adults 25-54 (5.8/15) and adults 18-49 (4.2/12). Compared to the last week, NCIS was up +4% in households (from 10.9/17), +2% in both viewers (from 16.78m) and adults 18-49 (from 4.1/11).
This is the highest rated episode of NCIS ever for the third consecutive week. It will be the most watched episode ever and the first time the program delivered more than 17 million viewers (note: October 4th was the first time the program broke the 16 million viewer mark). This is the second best adults 18-49 delivery (-0.2 behind the October 4th broadcast) and the third best adults 25-54 performance (-0.1 behind both October 4th and October 11th).
THE AMAZING RACE 8 was second in households (7.1/11), viewers (11.31m), adults 25-54 (5.4/12), adults 18-49 (4.5/11) and adults 18-34 (3.1/09). Compared to last week's broadcast, THE AMAZING RACE 8 is up +3% in both households (from 6.9/10) and viewers (from 10.95m), +5% in adults 18-49 (from 4.3/10), +4% in adults 25-54 (from 5.2/11) and even in adults 18-34. This is the best delivery of this edition of THE AMAZING RACE in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.
For the night, CBS was first in households (8.5/13), viewers (12.79m), tied for first in adults 25-54 (5.1/12, with NBC) and second in adults 18-49 (4.0/11).
Final Tuesday ratings will be available this afternoon.

NCIS delivered its most watched episode ever, soaring past the 17.5 million viewer mark for the first time and also set a new series high in adults 25-54, according to final national Nielsen ratings for Oct. 18.
At 8:00 PM, NCIS was first in households (11.6/18), viewers (17.69m), adults 25-54 (6.1/15) and adults 18-49 (4.3/12). Compared to the last week, NCIS was up +6% in households (from 10.9/17), +5% in both viewers (from 16.78m) and adults 18-49 (from 4.1/11), +3% in adults 25-54 (from 5.9/14). NCIS was Tuesday's most watched program, delivering almost +1.4m more viewers than ABC's "Commander In Chief" (16.30m).
This is the highest rated episode of NCIS ever for the third consecutive week as well as the drama's best adults 25-54 delivery ever. It is the most watched episode ever and the first time the program delivered more than 17.5 million viewers (note: October 4th was the first time the program broke the 16 million viewer mark).
