CBS Gives Script Orders to 'Threshold,' 'Out of Practice'

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- "How I Met Your Mother," "Ghost Whisperer" and "Criminal Minds" weren't the only ones to receive good news yesterday (read the story) as CBS has asked for three additional scripts for its fellow freshman entries "Out of Practice" and "Threshold."
Said orders will allow CBS to evaluate the pair's ratings for a few more weeks before having to make a final decision about their fates.
To date this season, "Threshold" has averaged a solid 8.39 million viewers but only a 75.86% retention rate of lead-in "Ghost Whisperer" (11.06 million).
Meanwhile, "Out of Practice" has averaged a healthy 12.14 million viewers this season and a 83.49% retention rate of lead-in "Two and a Half Men's" audience (14.54 million). Conversely, fellow Monday newcomer "How I Met Your Mother" (10.60 million viewers on average) has improved upon its "King of Queens" lead-in (10.57 million) despite drawing less overall viewers than "Practice."
Both "Threshold" and "Out of Practice" come from Paramount Network Television, with David Heyman, Brannon Braga and David S. Goyer serving as executive producers on the former and Joe Keenan and Christopher Lloyd on the latter.
