THE "BIG BROTHER 6" HOUSEGUESTS SAY SO LONG TO ASHLEA!

Ashlea Evans Is the First Houseguest to Officially Be Evicted From The "Big Brother 6" House

First Secret Pairing Broken-Up Last Night

STUDIO CITY, CALIF., July 15 -- After being nominated for eviction by Rachel Plencner, the first Head of Household, Ashlea Evans was evicted last night from the BIG BROTHER 6 house by a vote of 9-2 from her fellow houseguests, with everyone voting for Ashlea except James Rhine and her secret partner, Janelle Pierzina (Head of Household and two eviction nominees do not vote). On Tuesday, Rachel pulled a double whammy by winning the Power of Veto, but chose to leave the nominations as they stood, leaving Ashlea and Kaysar Ridha on the chopping block.

During last night's live broadcast, the fashion design student from Plantation, Fla. learned her fate and left the house. After leaving BIG BROTHER 6, Ashlea was interviewed by Julie Chen about her experience.

The houseguests compete each Thursday to become Head of Household. The perks of the position include having a luxurious private bedroom and bathroom, as well as a plasma screen spy cam to monitor other houseguests' activities. However, it also includes the responsibility of having to nominate two fellow housemates for eviction. On the weeks when there are veto challenges, one of the nominees can be saved from the chopping block if they or another housemate wins the Power of Veto competition and chooses to save one of the nominees, while giving themselves immunity from nomination. If they choose to use the veto power, the Head of Household must immediately choose another nominee.

As part of the twist that will play out during the summer broadcasts, each of the 14 houseguests who entered the house believes that they are the only one playing the game with a secret partner, which includes friends, co-workers and significant others. Each twosome knows that if they can keep their secret and end up being the last two people in the house, the winner will win $1,000,000, the biggest cash prize in "Big Brother" history, with the second place finisher winning $250,000. If a twosome does not make it to the final two, the winner will collect $500,000.

BIG BROTHER 6 is broadcast each week on Tuesdays (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), Thursdays (8:00-9:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) and Saturdays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT). The Thursday broadcast, hosted by Julie Chen, will feature the live eviction of one of the houseguests.
