FOX TO HOLD NATIONWIDE AUDITIONS FOR "THE 2005 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS"
"Claim to Fame" Search is on for Girl and Guy Trophy Presenters JCPENNEY Serves as Exclusive Presenter of the Contest
FOX and JCPenney will launch a nationwide search to find guy and girl trophy presenters for THE 2005 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS airing Tuesday, Aug. 16 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
The "Claim to Fame" contest kicked off Friday, July 1, and ends Friday, July 25. The winners will each receive a four-day/three-night trip to Los Angeles to attend THE 2005 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS, where their responsibilities will include presenting trophies, escorting celebrity winners, hanging out backstage and attending the post-show party.
FOX and JCPenney will host "Claim to Fame" booths at outdoor venues across the country beginning Thursday, July 7. At each booth, teens will have the opportunity to have a digital photo taken with a Teen Choice surfboard, which can be used as their official photographic entry. Each booth will also provide entry forms and additional information on THE 2005 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS.

To enter the "Claim to Fame" contest, 13-19-year-olds should send a color photo of themselves and either a) complete the online entry form located at www.fox.com/claim2fame; or b) answer the following questions on an 8_"x11" piece of paper:
- Why do you want to be a trophy presenter at the TEEN CHOICE AWARDS?
- What star would you like to hang with at the TEEN CHOICE AWARDS?
- What star's style is most like your own?
- What would people be surprised to learn about you?

All entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges, who will select one male and one female to hand out the coveted TEEN CHOICE surfboards at THE 2005 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS.
The first contest winner of the "Claim to Fame" contest, established in 1999, was Jared Padalecki. While at the TEEN CHOICE AWARDS that year, Padalecki was approached by a talent manager, and soon found himself with a starring role on "Gilmore Girls" and appearing in the movie "House of Wax."
The coolest stars are expected to attend the show and receive awards in categories such as "Choice Breakout TV Show," "Choice Movie Chemistry," "Choice Reality/Variety Show," "Choice Breakout Artist," "Choice Male Hottie," "Choice Female Athlete" and "Choice TV Sidekick." From now until Thursday, Aug. 4, voters can log on exclusively to teenpeople.com/teenchoice to cast their ballots for the hottest celebrities in film, television, music, sports and fashion.
