Vandross Tribute Features Classic Game Show Appearances on 'Family Feud'
SANTA MONICA, Calif., July 6 -- GSN will be airing a tribute
to legendary R&B singer Luther Vandross, who passed away Friday at the age of
54, on Saturday, July 9 on "Family Feud" at 9 PM and 9:30 PM ET/PT.
Vandross sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, resulting in 10
platinum albums, several Grammy Awards, and multiple hits including "Always
and Forever" and "Never Too Much." His last album, Dance With My Father, won
four Grammy Awards.
GSN is running two episodes of "Family Feud" back-to-back that feature
Vandross. Both episodes are hosted by Ray Combs and first aired in 1989.
They are special episodes and featured "Grammy Singing Superstars." Vandross
was a member of the Musical Misters team that also included Bobby McFerrin,
Little Richard, Tim Hauser and Alan Paul. They faced off against the Swingin'
Sisters that featured Gladys Knight, Dionne Warwick, Vanessa Williams, Janis
Stegel and Cheryl Bentyne. In the 9 PM episode Vandross makes it to the fast
money round.
