GSN Will Honor TV Host and Renowned Ventriloquist Paul Winchell in a Special Two-Day Tribute Wed., June 29 and Thurs., June 30

Winchell Tribute Includes Classic Game Show Appearances on 'What's My Line?'

SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 27 -- GSN will be airing tributes to TV host/ventriloquist Paul Winchell, who passed away last Friday at the age of 82, on June 29 and 30th. Winchell is best known for performances with his equally famous dummy Jerry Mahoney and for being the voice of "Tigger" in the Walt Disney animated "Winnie-the-Pooh" movies and TV series. Also an inventor, Winchell was one of the original inventors of the artificial heart.

Wednesday, June 29th

3:00am What's My Line Ep. 4/29/56

Paul Winchell and his dummy Jerry Mahoney make their first appearance as a panelist joining Arlene Francis, Bennett Cerf and Dorothy Kilgallen. Legendary ventriloquist Edgar Bergen and his dummy Mortimer Snerd appear as the mystery guests on this April 29, 1956 broadcast. Host: John Daly

3:30am What's My Line Ep. 6/3/56

Paul Winchell returns for his second appearance on the panel joining Arlene Francis, Dorothy Kilgallen and Peter Lawford. Two mystery guests, architect Frank Lloyd Wright and Liberace, are on hand to stump the panel in this June 3, 1956 broadcast. Host: John Daly

Thursday, June 30th

3:00am What's My Line Ep. 6/24/56

Paul Winchell and Jerry Mahoney are back for another visit to the panel, again joining Arlene Francis, Bennett Cerf and Dorothy Kilgallen. The mystery guests tonight are the Cincinnati Reds baseball team and Bob Hope with his daughter Linda. John Daly guides the panel in this episode, first broadcast June 24, 1956.

3:30am What's My Line Ep. 7/22/56

Paul Winchell and his dummy Jerry Mahoney put their heads together with regular panelists Arlene Francis, Bennett Cerf and Vivian Blaine as they try to guess a man who makes ventriloquist dummies, a female boxer and mystery guest Jerry Lewis. Original broadcast of July 22, 1956 with John Daly as host.
