VH1 Bares it All for Viewers With Three New Series That Expose the Private Worlds of a Hulk, a Partridge and a Male Revue
'Hogan Knows Best,' 'Being Bonaduce' and 'Strip Search'
to Hit This Summer
NEW YORK, March 29 -- Having just posted its 11th consecutive
quarter of growth among viewers, VH1 throws open the doors to the private
lives of two celebrity families and scours America to cast a new male dance
troupe with the launch of three new series "Hogan Knows Best," "Being
Bonaduce" and "Strip Search."
HULKAMANIA IN THE HOUSE!
"HOGAN KNOWS BEST"
Hulk Hogan's famous "Grr" extends way beyond the wrestling ring and into
his home. Not only is he a world famous wrestler - he's also a very "red
state" suburban dad who lives on a 20,000-square-foot estate in Florida with
wife Linda, 16 year-old daughter Brooke, who he won't allow to date and 14
year-old son Nick, who wants to be a race car driver. "HOGAN KNOWS BEST" takes
you inside the Hogan household as Hulk and Linda wrestle with being PG parents
in an increasingly R-rated world.
"HOGAN KNOWS BEST" is a production of VH1 in conjunction with Pink
Sneakers. Kimberly Belcher Cowin serves as executive producer, along with John
Ehrhard as producer and Scott Bennett as director and co-producer for Pink
Sneakers. Warren Cohen serves as senior producer, along with Brad Abramson,
Michael Hirschorn, and Shelly Tatro as executive producers for VH1.
FIRST COMES LOVE, THEN COMES MARRIAGE ...
"BEING BONADUCE" (tentative title)
This series takes a compelling, honest, sometimes hilarious, sometimes raw
look into the relationship between Danny Bonaduce and his wife Gretchen.
Meeting and marrying seven hours into their first date, the Bonaduces, who
have been together for fifteen years, have faced addiction, infidelity and
Danny's "death wish" antics -- things that have Gretchen wondering on a daily
basis why she stays with him at all -- but somehow they have managed to
survive as a couple. Told through a combination of couples therapy and
reality, the series offers a fly-on-the-wall look at their life-altering
breakthroughs, mundane frustrations, modern-day romance and endless
eccentricities that are "BEING BONADUCE."
"BEING BONADUCE" is a production of VH1 in conjunction with 3 Ball. JD
Roth, John Foy and Todd Nelson serve as executive producers and Troy Searer as
co-executive producer for 3 Ball. Jeff Olde and Claire McCabe are executive
producers for VH1 with Michael Hirschorn also serving as executive producer.
BOXERS OR BRIEFS?
"STRIP SEARCH"
The mostly-Australian male dance revue, "Thunder from Down Under," has
been playing to sold-out audiences of screaming women for four years on the
Las Vegas strip. Now the creator of "Thunder," Billy Cross, is going to launch
a home-grown troupe of All American men. He's teaming up with VH1's Rachel
Perry and scouring the country for regular guys who are willing to leave their
homes, their jobs and their families for a chance at glamour and big bucks.
15 of America's most charismatic, sexy and ambitious men will abandon
their 9-to-5 lives when they are selected to come to Los Angeles to train and
test their dancing mettle. One by one, Billy will send home those who don't
meet his exacting standards. The final seven will be awarded lucrative
contracts as members of the new troupe and will perform their first
spectacular show in Las Vegas, launching their careers as professional
entertainers.
"Strip Search" is a production of VH1 in conjunction with Pilgrim Films
and Television, Screentime Pty Ltd and Distraction Formats. Craig Piligian
serves as executive producer, Andrea Richter as co-executive producer and
Sandi Johnson as Supervising Producer for Pilgrim Films with Des Monaghan
serving as consultant for Screentime. Matt Hanna, Michael Hirschorn and Jim
Ackerman are executive producers for VH1.
