ABC's NFL 'Monday Night Football' Will Kick Off Its 36th Season with Three Pre-Season Games

ABC�S NFL �MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL� WILL KICK OFF ITS 36th SEASON WITH THREE PRE-SEASON GAMES

Coverage Begins Monday, August 8, with the Hall-of-Fame Game from Canton, Ohio, Featuring Miami Dolphins vs. Chicago Bears

ABC�s NFL �Monday Night Football,� the most successful and longest-running primetime sports series in television history, will kick off its 36th season with three pre-season games, beginning with the Hall-of Fame Game from Canton, Ohio on MONDAY, AUGUST 8 (8:00 p.m., ET), featuring the Miami Dolphins vs. the Chicago Bears.

Among the Hall-of Fame inductees this season are former Dolphins QB Dan Marino. Marino played 17 seasons for the Dolphins and holds the NFL record for most career passing yards (61,361) and career touchdowns (420).

ABC Sports� second pre-season telecast, on MONDAY, AUGUST 22 (8:00 p.m., ET), will feature Bill Parcells and his Dallas Cowboys, with new QB Drew Bledsoe, as they travel to Seattle to take on Mike Holmgren�s Seahawks, the defending NFC West champions.

In the third and final game in ABC�s pre-season coverage, on MONDAY, AUGUST 29 (8:00 p.m., ET), head coach Steve Mariucci�s Detroit Lions, featuring some of the top young talent in the NFL -- including WR Roy Williams and RB Kevin Jones -- host QB Mark Bulger, WR Torry Holt and the high-powered St. Louis Rams. Ford Field in Detroit is the site of Super Bowl XL on ABC, February 5, 2006.

During this past season �Monday Night Football� finished in the Top 10 (6th) among all primetime shows on network television for the 15th consecutive season among households, viewers and all key adult and men demographics. In fact, once again it finished first in the key male demographics.
