DROOLING FOR "15 MINUTES OF FAME" -- BRAVO HOLDS CASTING CALL FOR POOCHES TO BE CHOSEN FOR "SHOWDOG MOMS & DADS" COMMERCIAL
CELEBRITY CANINES WILL JUDGE DOGS WITH TALENT OR FACES MADE FOR TELEVISION ON MARCH 24 AT ROCKEFELLER PLAZA
NEW YORK -- March 15, 2005 -- Is your doggie dying for his or her moment in the spotlight? Does your pup eye the pooches in commercials with envy? Do you just want the entire nation to see how cute your canine companion is? Well, here's your chance. Bravo is inviting dog owners to audition with their pets for the opportunity to be featured in a commercial for Bravo's new original series "Showdog Moms & Dads." Bravo on-air producers and a panel of "celebrity dog judges" will select five lucky dogs that best display star qualities. Pets will be granted auditions on a first-come, first-serve basis. Auditions will be held at The NBC Experience Store in New York City on Thursday, March 24, 2005.
"Celebrity dog judges" include:
Enzo, who portrayed "Eddie" on the NBC hit series "Frasier"
Laiko, who portrayed star canine Winn Dixie in the film "Because of Winn Dixie" currently in theaters
Mushu, who portrayed "Frank, the Pug" from the blockbuster film "Men in Black"
In addition to the five favored canines chosen for the commercial, the first 150 participants will take home Polaroids of themselves with the "celebrity judges" as well as Bravo doggie t-shirt.
The "Bravo Give Your Dog 15 Minutes of Fame Auditions" will take place Thursday, March 24 from 11 a.m. -2 p.m. at the NBC Experience Store in Rockefeller Plaza, New York City. All should enter at 49th Street between 5th and 6th Ave. Press should report to the front of the line.
Bravo turns its behind-the-scenes eye on the competitive, quirky world of show dogs in the new, original docu-series "Showdog Moms & Dads," a follow-up to last year's engrossing hit series "Showbiz Moms & Dads." This eight-part, one-hour series airing Wednesday evenings at 10:00 PM beginning Wednesday, March 30, features five unique "families" from around the country each comprised of doting human parents committed to their canine children.
