AWARD WINNERS BATEMAN & SWANK HOST SNL

AWARD WINNERS ROUND OUT FEBRUARY FOR "SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE"

Golden Globe Winner Jason Bateman hosts with Original American Idol Kelly Clarkson as Musical Guest on February 12

Oscar Winner and Current Nominee Hilary Swank Hosts February 19 with Rap Superstar 50 Cent

NEW YORK -- February 7, 2005 -- NBC's "Saturday Night Live" finishes its February line-up with two award-winning actors and a pair of chart-topping musical acts.

On February 12, SNL welcomes the Golden Globe winning star of the multiple Emmy Award winning show "Arrested Development" Jason Bateman, who makes his SNL debut. Before starring in the critically acclaimed comedy show, Bateman established himself early as a child actor performing on the long-running "Little House on the Prairie" as well as "Silver Spoons," it's spin-off "It's Your Move" and the five-year run opposite Valerie Harper in the series "Valerie"/ "Valerie's Family"/ "The Hogan Family." Bateman has also appeared in the hit comedy films "Dodgeball" and "Starsky and Hutch" and "The Sweetest Thing."

Also making her SNL debut is Kelly Clarkson. The original winner of the hugely popular "American Idol" show, Clarkson will perform tracks from her sophomore release "Breakaway" which debuted in the upper reaches of the Billboard album charts. The record has already produced two Top 20 singles in "Since U Been Gone" and the title track (which was #1 on all Top 40 radio outlets). "Breakaway" is the follow up to her double platinum debut "Thankful," which netted her a 2004 Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal.

Then, on February 19, award winning actress Hilary Swank toplines the show. Currently an Oscar nominee for Best Actress in Clint Eastwood's "Million Dollar Baby," Swank has already won a Golden Globe, a SAG Award and numerous critics' awards for her role as an indominable female boxer. In 2000, Swank won countless awards including her first Oscar for her gender-bending performance in "Boys Don't Cry." In addition, Swank appeared in a supporting role with Cate Blanchett and Keanu Reeves in "The Gift" as well as starring opposite Adrien Brody in "The Affair of the Necklace," "Insomnia" with Al Pacino and Robin Williams. Most recently, she starred in the Emmy nominated HBO feature "Iron Jawed Angels."

Joining Swank is hip-hop superstar 50 Cent, making his second solo appearance on "SNL," performing from his eagerly anticipated second record, the follow up to his record-smashing four-times-platinum debut "Get Rich Or Die Trying." Tentatively entitled "The St. Valentine's Day Massacre," the disc has already produced two massive hits in the rapper's take on the classic "Disco Inferno" and the latest release "Candy Shop." The two tracks are rapidly climbing the Billboard Hip-Hop, Rap and Singles charts.
