NBC Renews 'Biggest Loser,' Extends Its Current Season

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- After striking out with most of its freshman entries, NBC is rallying behind the success of "The Biggest Loser," ordering a second season of the reality series and expanding its current season by two to three episodes.
The news comes just a few days after "Loser's" latest 90-minute broadcast won all three half-hours in adults 18-49 on Tuesday, building its audience between each. To capitalize on said success, the Peacock has upped its initial run to at least ten episodes (with the option for an 11th). The move will keep "Loser" on NBC's roster until January while a second season of eight episodes is due shortly thereafter.
Ben Silverman, Dave Broome, J.D. Roth, John Foy and Todd A. Nelson are the executive producers of the series, which comes from Reveille, 3 Ball Productions and 25/7 Productions.
