Peter Golden Promoted to Executive Vice President, Talent and Casting, Cbs

PETER GOLDEN PROMOTED TO EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, TALENT AND CASTING, CBS

Peter Golden, who has overseen casting during CBS's rise to becoming America's most watched network, has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Talent and Casting, CBS, expanding his responsibilities to include casting oversight of Paramount Network Television, it was announced by Nina Tassler, President CBS Entertainment and David Stapf, President, Paramount Network Television.

Reporting to both Tassler and Stapf, Golden will continue to oversee all talent and casting operations for CBS primetime and daytime series, television movies and mini-series, reality series and special programs. Additionally, he will oversee the casting of all programs produced by Paramount Network Television.

"Peter's ability to spot talent, both new and veteran stars, has been key to CBS's success," said Tassler. "Our comedies, dramas, long form and reality programs have all benefited from Peter's eye for talent and his instinct for matching the right artist with the right project."

Said Stapf: "Peter has the respect and admiration of agents, producers, talent and everyone in the creative community. These relationships will be a major asset as we develop the next generation of hit programs at Paramount."

Since joining the Network, Golden has supervised casting on more than 100 series including EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND, CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, WITHOUT A TRACE, THE KING OF QUEENS, TWO AND A HALF MEN, CSI: NY, COLD CASE, JOAN OF ARCADIA and CSI: MIAMI as well as SURVIVOR and THE AMAZING RACE.

Golden has also supervised casting on more than 200 movies and mini-series including the multi Emmy-nominated "Joan of Arc," "Mama Flora's Family," and "Reversible Errors" as well as "The Elizabeth Smart Story," "Helter Skelter," The Book of Ruth" and, most recently, "Revenge of the Middle Age Woman," starring Christine Lahti, and "Suburban Madness," with Sela Ward.

Golden joined CBS in January 1996 as Vice President, Talent and Casting, and was named Senior Vice President, Talent and Casting, CBS Entertainment, in August 1998.

Prior to CBS, Golden was Vice President, Development, St. Clare Entertainment, where he was involved in such projects as "Here Comes the Munsters," an FBC television movie, and the USA series, "Campus Cops" and "Weird Science."

From 1992-95, he was Vice President of Development for Stephen J. Cannell Productions, Inc. From 1990-92, Golden was Vice President, Talent and Casting, for Cannell where his many credits included the hits series "Wiseguy" for CBS and "The Commish" for ABC. Prior to that, as Vice President, Talent and Casting of GTG Entertainment, Inc. (1987-90), he worked on "The Dick Van Dyke Show," "WIOU" and "TV101" for CBS and "Baywatch" for NBC, among others.

Golden was Director, Casting, for NBC from 1986-87 and a casting director at Universal Television. He began his career as a casting director at Hughes/Moss in New York where his projects included "The Cosby Show."

A native of Manhattan, Golden is a graduate of Colby College with a bachelors degree in English.
